PAWTUCKET – Shea High still owns the kind of speed that can turn a game around in a heartbeat.
The Raiders got an 80-yard kickoff return from Momodou Mbye to start the second half on Friday night. Mbye's burst broke open a close game against Lincoln, which trailed by just eight points at intermission. The Raiders then piled it on, rolling to a 41-21 in the Division II opener for both sides.

PAWTUCKET – A disclaimer right off the bat: Rivalries in minor-league baseball do not exist, no matter how hard some in the business wish they did.
PAWTUCKET – Inside Ray Tanguay’s office – located a jump shot away from the basketball court inside St. Raphael’s Alumni Hall – is a textbook example of an athletic director who emphasizes staying ahead of the curve.
Hanging on one of the walls are several dry erase boards that contain the schedules for all SRA fall sports teams at the varsity and junior varsity level. If there’s a postponement, all Tanguay needs to do is wipe and write the rescheduled date in its new slot.

PAWTUCKET – Taking center stage following two rather quiet Injury Fund scrimmages, Tolman High all but set Max Read Field’s gridiron on fire Friday night during a 25-7 romp over Cumberland.

But any resemblance between the regular-season Barnes and the post-season Barnes was pure coincidence.

âWhen you donât perform to the best of your capabilities, itâs not a surprise,â the centerfielder acknowledged while recently standing in front of his locker inside the PawSox clubhouse.
Having a thick skin has undoubtedly served Bradley well in a season where nothing has gone right offensively. He credits his upbringing for providing him with a foundation of confidence that he says keep slumps and critics at bay.
