Lincoln's D'Aloisio captures another state wrestling title; Cumberland places third in team standings

PROVIDENCE — When Lincoln High senior Alex D'Aloisio awoke on Saturday morning, he didn't feel that well. He figured it was probably just nerves, as he was about to attempt to claim a second-straight title at the R.I. Interscholastic Wrestling Championships.
“Once I got here (to the Providence Career & Technical Academy field house), I started to feel it in my gut; I was kind out of it,” he confessed.

Cumberland hockey team nips Lincoln, 2-1, finishes Division II-North regular season with 18-0 record

PAWTUCKET — This is what great sports rivalries are all about: Anything Lincoln can do, Cumberland wants to do it better. Even if the difference between these two outstanding hockey teams is nearly negligible, the Clippers want to outdo their neighborhood rivals on the ice.

Pawtucket's Doyle captures hometown Irish 5K

PAWTUCKET — Pawtucket’s Brendan Doyle topped a field of 784 runners to win the fourth annual Irish 5K this past weekend, as Doyle posted a winning time of 17:44 to top the runner-up finisher, Chris Fox of Rumford, by 28 seconds.
On the women’s side, Greenville’s Trish Hillery became a two-time winner of the race by placing sixth overall in 18:55. Karen Gately of North Grafton, Mass. was the next female to cross the finish line, as she was 13th overall in 19:34.6.
