SRA staying positive despite latest loss

PAWTUCKET — St. Raphael Academy had just committed seven sloppy errors en route to a 6-2 loss to North Kingstown High at Vets Park on drizzly Thursday, but veteran mentor Tom Sorrentine remained remarkably upbeat afterward.
“Defensively, we just didn't make the plays, but – honestly – I think we're getting better as a team,” he confessed. “Yeah, we made a lot of errors, but we're improving. I think we're getting better as we move along in the season.

Lions fall to Titans in eight innings

LINCOLN — Euphoria quickly gave way to frustration Thursday afternoon at rainy Chet Nichols Field.
Lincoln, which rallied for three runs in the home portion of the seventh inning to tie the game at 3-3 against visiting Toll Gate, watched as the Titans pushed across an unearned run in the top of the eighth to secure a 4-3 verdict.
