PASCOAG - Brother RenĂ© J. M. Chenard, S.C., 90, of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart Provincial House, Pascoag, RI, died August 15, 2014 at Overlook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Pascoag, RI. Born in Lewiston, ME, he was the son of the late Joseph and Emilia (Therriault) Chenard. Brother RenĂ© died on the 70th anniversary of his first religious profession.
L. Mildred Hanley
PAWTUCKET - L. Mildred "Millie" Hanley, R.N., 92, of Pawtucket, RI and Mashpee, MA passed away on August 19, 2014. She was the wife of the late Joseph M. Hanley. Born in Hyde Park, MA, Millie was the daughter of Willard and Lillian (Moxham) Barnett, and sister of the late Willard Barnett. After completion of nursing school, Millie served as a Navy nurse during WWII. She was employed at the Pawtucket Memorial Hospital and was a school nurse - teacher in the Pawtucket School Department until retiring.
CENTRAL FALLS - Gloria (Harkness) Bessette, 89, of Central Falls died peacefully on August 19, 2014 at Kindred Transitional Health and Rehab Center in Pawtucket, RI. She was the wife of the late Gerard J. Bessette. Born in Central Falls, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Marie (Vachon) Harkness.
Michael J. Stevens
NORTH PROVIDENCE - Michael J. Stevens, 38, of N. Providence, died Saturday at home. He was the fiancĂ© of Laura L. Stevens. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of James Stevens and Diane (St. Pierre) Stevens.
He was a self employed painter/contractor.
He is also survived by his maternal grandmother Theresa (Fontaine) St. Pierre; son Ethan Stevens; daughters Alexandria, Raevin and Isabella Stevens; sister Stephanie Stevens; uncle Leonard and his wife Katherine St. Pierre; aunt Elaine Bedard; nieces Madison and Makensie Stevens and several cousins.
Therese A. Morin
PAWTUCKET - Therese A. (Roy) Morin, 94, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late Lionel T. Morin. Born in St. Hughes, P.Q., Canada, she was a daughter of the late Aime and Aldea (Vandal) Roy.
Alice M. Charron
RUMFORD - Alice M. Charron of Rumford and formerly of Pawtucket died on August 16, 2014.
She was born in Pawtucket, the daughter of the late Napoleon and Olivina (Carufel) Charron.
Miss Charron enjoyed her time at the New Horizon Day Care Center where she helped organize and participated in a wide variety of activities.
She is survived by her longtime caregiver, Muriel Chenail of Rumford.
Roland A. Bourassa
PAWTUCKET - Roland "Rolo" A. Bourassa, 67, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on Sunday, August 17, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Renata A. (Polit) Bourassa for 45 years. Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Arthur J. and Aurore (Choiniere) Bourassa.
Constancia E. Vicente
PAWTUCKET - Constancia E. Vicente, entered into eternal life on Sunday at Mt. St. Rita's Health Center after an illness. She was the wife of the late Francelino J. Vicente.
She was born in Cumberland, a daughter of the late Alberto and Emilia (Marques) Santos. She had been employed at the former Andrade Braid Co, for 8 years, Conrad Jarvis Mfg. for 12 years and at Joyal VanDale for 15 years.
Leo S. Lavault
CENTRAL FALLS - Leo S. Lavault, 88, passed away Saturday, August 16th. He was the beloved husband of Doris (Beauvais) for 69 years. Born in Central Falls, the son of the late Omer Lavault and Roseanna (Hebert) Leeming, brother to the late Andrew and Sylvio Coutu, and Norman, Gerard and Roger Lavault, he lived in Central Falls for all 88 years of his life.

CHEPACHET - Leonard R. Champagne, age 67, died suddenly at home in Chepachet, RI pm August 12, 2014. He was born in Pawtucket and was the beloved son of the late Aline (Blouin) and Raymond L. Champagne.

CENTRAL FALLS - Benvinda Fontes, "Vinda" 59, passed away on August 12th. Born in Brava, Cape Verde, she was the beloved wife of the late Francisco A. Fontes and the daughter of the late John Correia and Domingas Rocha.
As a loving and caring mother, she is survived by a son, Manuel Fontes, a daughter, Michell Fontes and a grandson, Jose Gabriel Fontes, all of Central Falls. She is also survived by her siblings Idilia Cosme. John Correia Jr, Estella Barbosa, Autilia Dylan and Lydia Nelson along with numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family.
Bode Andrew Taylor
SEAVILLE. NJ - Bode Andrew Taylor age 4 of Seaville, NJ was called to Heaven on June 24, 2014 after a swimming accident. He was the son of Christine Czaja of Seaville, NJ and Jason Taylor of Absecon, NJ formally of Pawtucket, RI.
PAWTUCKET - Florence (Allen) McKinnon, 93, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late Allan McKinnon for 60 years prior to his death in 2003. Born in Central Falls, she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Fannie (Hill) Allen.
Florence was a 1938 graduate of Central Falls High School, and was employed as a bookkeeper at the Carol Cable Company, Pawtucket for many years until retiring in 1990.
Barbara E. Campbell
PAWTUCKET - Barbara E. (Ventresca-Major) Campbell, 74, Born in Augusta, Maine on 11-16-39 to the Eva 'Pearl' (Morin) Ventresca and George Ventresca Sr. (both now deceased) and had a wonderful relationship with her stepfather, James E. Major of Lincoln, RI.
Barbara moved from Maine to Lincoln, RI in her early teen years. She enjoyed Saturday night roller skating, winter ice skating, spinning records...especially Elvis Presley, country music and summer beach days with her daughters. Barbara worked at Coats Field department store and School House Candy in Pawtucket, RI.
Mary A. Cardozo
CUMBERLAND - Mary A. Cardozo, 92 of One Mendon Road, passed away Tuesday in the Grandview Nursing Center, Cumberland. She was the wife of the late Ezekiel Cardozo.
Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Jose and Isabel (Sanchez) Machado.
She lived most of her life in Cumberland.
She was employed by the A.T. Cross Company, Lincoln, retiring in 1984.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Cumberland.
Mary was a member of the Cumberland Lions Club.
Theodore J. Durand
CENTRAL FALLS - Theodore J. "Ted" Durand entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 10, 2014 after a four year illness. He was the beloved husband of Patricia (Degnan) Durand. They had been married 48 years.
Ted was born in Central Falls, the son of the late Theodore and Elizabeth (Brown) Durand. He was a Forman at Eastern Color and Chemical Company for over 48 years.
LINCOLN - Anna Labrie, 86, passed on August 6th. She was the wife of the late Ernest E. Labrie.
Anna was the daughter of the late John and Emelia (Kulak) Klimuszka.
She is survived by a sister, Laura Bankas of Florida and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Charles and Stanley Klimuszka.
CUMBERLAND - Adeline Piepszny, 93, passed away Tuesday August 5, 2014 at her residence in Port Orange, FL. She was the beloved wife of the late Matthew J. Piepszny. They were married for 43 years.
Born in Central Falls she was a daughter of the late Franciszek and Paulina (Chuckla) Pasciak. She lived in Cumberland for most of her life.
She was a graduate of Central Falls High School. Before retiring Adeline was employed as a Bookkeeper for Guyan Mills, Bonney Blouse Co. and North Central Airways.
