Edward J. Sullivan
CUMBERLAND - Edward J. Sullivan, 88, formerly of Cumberland, died Thursday, October 16, 2014, at the Village at Waterman Lake. He was the beloved husband of the late Alice (Burns) Sullivan.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John and Anna (Werbicki) Sullivan.
Mary A. Brunelle
PAWTUCKET - Mary A. (Grylls) Brunelle, 73, passed away Friday, October 17, 2014. She was the beloved wife of Gerard R. Brunelle for forty-eight years. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late William and Mary A. (Maine) Grylls.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Gerard W. Brunelle; a daughter, Mary L. Brunelle and five grandchildren, Mary Beth, Justin, Courtney and Christopher Brunelle and Matthew Hawes all of Pawtucket. She was the sister of the late William Grylls.
Edward F. "Ted" Wall
CUMBERLAND - Edward F. "Ted" Wall, 77, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at the Philip Hulitar Center, Providence, after a brief illness. He was the fiancĂ©e of Jean Ayers of Cumberland, the love of his life, and the husband of the late Claire Migneault. He was born in Cumberland, the son of the late Leo and Grace (Mowry) Wall. He was a warehouseman in local paper supply companies until retiring in 1981.
Annie W. McLachlan
NORTH PROVIDENCE - Annie W. McLachlan, 100, died October 16, 2014 at Hopkins Manor. She was born in Kilmarnick, Scotland. Daughter of the late Charles and Jessie (Allan) McLachlan. She came to this country in 1928 and settled in Pawtucket. She was employed by Brown & Sharpe for 43 years until her retirement in 1979. Mrs. McLachlan was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church and King's Daughters. She was an avid traveler.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Sister of the late Robert and George McLachlan, Berthya Jessiman, Jessie Davis and Jane Bennett.
PAWTUCKET- Ora (Boulais) Potter, 88 a long-time resident of Pawtucket, died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, July 3, 2014 in Apollo Beach, Florida where she had been residing for the last 3 years.
She was the wife of the late Galen (Bud) Potter. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Rose (Plante) Boulais.
Gladys W. McKee
CUMBERLAND - Gladys W. McKee, 93, formerly of Cumberland, passed away Thursday at Briarcliffe Manor, Johnston. She was the wife of the late William S. McKee.
Born in Shreveport, LA, she was the daughter of the late James C. and Thelma (Robertson) Williams. She resided in Cumberland for most of her life.
Mrs. McKee was employed as a Department Head, Home Economics and Science Teacher for the Cumberland School Department for 33 years until her retirement.
She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa, ETA Chapter, and a lifelong member of NEA.
Jose N. Mendes
PAWTUCKET - Jose N. Mendes, "Zepe" 68, passed on October 16th with his family by his side.
He was the husband of Joana (Baptista) Mendes and step son of Lolo Spinola.
Born in Brava, Cape Verde he was the son of the late Joaquim Rodrigues and Eva Mendes. He had been employed by Union Wadding for over 15 years. He was a member of Mount Hope Community Baptist Church.
Viviane T. Belisle
PAWTUCKET - Viviane T. Belisle, entered into eternal life on Tuesday at Berkshire Place in Providence after an illness. She was born in Central Falls, a daughter of the late Phillip and Eva (Caouette) Fournier. She was the former wife of the late Robert L. Nixon.
Richard F. Kachuk
CUMBERLAND - Richard F. Kachuk, 76, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Darlene A. (Fasulo) Kachuk for 46 years. Born in Putnam, CT, he was a son of the late William and Yvette (Champagne) Kachuk. Richard enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends, he especially enjoyed spending time with his four grandchildren, Richard, Riley, Jake and Nicole.
Alfred E. Vieira, Jr.
PAWTUCKET - Alfred "Coach Al" E. Vieira, Jr., 73, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2014. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, he was a son of Evelyn (Rogers) Vieira of Pawtucket and the late Alfred E. Vieira, Sr.
John E. Johnson
BROWNINGTON, VT - John Emanuel Johnson, 75, died October 9, 2014, at his home in Brownington, VT. John, a longtime resident of Pawtucket, RI, was the loving father of four children - Cathy Tupper of Cape Coral, FL; Jan Eve Johnson of Wayland, MA; Virginia H. Johnson of N. Attleboro, MA; and John E. Johnson of Pawtucket, RI. John is also survived by his mother, Rita Johnson, of Greenville, RI; his brother, Bertil Johnson, of N. Scituate, RI; his sister, Linda Molack, of Coventry, RI; and his two grandchildren, Angelina M. and Isabella Eve Johnson, of Pawtucket, RI.
Mabel G. Kelleher
PAWTUCKET - Mabel G. (DesRoches) Kelleher, 78, passed away with her husband by her side on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 after many years of illness. She was the beloved wife of Paul B. Kelleher for 27 years and the late Kenneth Brown. Born in Somerville, MA, she was a daughter of the late Theodore, Sr. and Helen (Lane) DesRoches.
Mabel was the nursing payroll clerk at Memorial Hospital of RI for 17 years until her retirement in 1998. She enjoyed collecting Swarovski Crystal; reading; knitting; crocheting and completing word searches and crossword puzzles.
Joan B. Roskowski
CUMBERLAND - Joan B. Roskowski, 81, of Cumberland, passed away Friday, October 10, 2014. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy (McCaffrey) Demers. Joan lived most of her life in Pawtucket.
She is survived by two children, Tom Roskowski, and Cathy Calcagni, two sisters, Dorothy Demers, and CarolAnne Dragon, and six grandchildren, Alexander, Erica, Stasha, and Brandon Roskowski, and Chelsea and Mikaela Calcagni. She was the mother of the late David Roskowski and sister of the late Cornelius "Neil" Demers.
JOSEPHINE (LOPES) NICKERSON
CHEPACHET - Josephine (Lopes) Nickerson, 60, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014 in RI Hospital, Providence. She was the wife of William Nickerson, whom she married Aug. 7, 1976. They resided on Putnam Pike in Chepachet. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Silva) Lopes.
Josephine was a self employed bookkeeper and homemaker. She was a very active member of St. Joseph's Church, serving as a former CCD Teacher and Choir member.
STEPHEN JOHN DURAND
PAWTUCKET - Stephen John Durand, 57, of Trinity, FL (formerly of Pawtucket,RI) died Tuesday October 8 in New Port Richey, FL after a long illness. He was the loving husband of Loretta (Buckley) Durand. They were married 35 years.
PAWTUCKET - Edward J. Bourgault Jr., "Teddy" 75, passed on October 6th at his home with family by his side. He was the longtime companion of Elaine Sencar.
Teddy was the son of the late Edward J. and Pearl (Moon) Bourgault Sr. He was a self-employed painter for many years and was an Army Veteran.
Amelia (Monteiro) Rojao
PAWTUCKET - Amelia (Monteiro) Rojao, 91, of Englewood Ave., Pawtucket, died surrounded by her family Monday afternoon, Oct. 6, 2014 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. She was the wife of Jose J. Rojao.
Born May 2, 1923, in Valley Falls, RI, she was a daughter of Jose Monteiro and Maria do Carmo (Videira) Monteiro. She was a dress maker for many years at Pawtucket Dress before retiring.
She was a communicant of St. Anthonyâ€™s Church and was a member of Uniao Portuguesa Beneficente for 65 years.
RICHARD G. CARPENTER
NORTH PROVIDENCE - Richard G. Carpenter, 97, of North Providence, died October 6, 2014 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. He was the husband of the late Christina (De Luca) Carpenter. Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late George and Rose (Roy) Carpenter.
