Mary V. Langevin
PAWTUCKET - Mary V. Langevin, 92 of Pawtucket died Monday at home surrounded by her loving family.
Mary was the wife of the late Rene Langevin. Born in Pawtucket she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Landers) Cabral.
Mary was an accountant for many years until she retired and went to work at Korb's Bakery in Pawtucket.
She is survived by a son, Paul Pistacchio III of Pawtucket and her grandchildren, Robert Pistacchio of North Providence and Katherine Henry of North Attleboro, Massachusetts.
She was the mother of the late Linda Henry.
Felisberta F. DaVeiga
PAWTUCKET - Felisberta F. DaVeiga, 94, of Pawtucket died Jan. 7, 2011. She was the wife of the late Pedro C. DaVeiga. She was born in Brava, Cape Verde a daughter of the late Henrique and Maria (Costa) Fernandes. She came to this country 37 years ago settling in Pawtucket.
She worked at the former School House Candy.
She is survived by 4 children Maria V. Paulo of Pawt., Jose P. Veiga of Pawt., Ana Gomes of Florida and Alexandre Veiga of Central Falls. 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren.
R. William Rowse
PAWTUCKET - R. William Rowse, 92, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2011. He was the beloved husband of the late Mildred E. (Warburton) Rowse and the late Norma (Watkinson) Rowse.
Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Frank J. and Anna (Capron) Rowse, he resided in Pawtucket and South Attleboro most of his life.
Bill was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. He was a 1940 graduate of Bryant College where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
Edward G. Mardo
WARWICK Edward G. Mardo, 86, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2011. He was the husband of the late Ann (Kahla) Mardo and Emily (Ameen)Mardo. Most recently, he was the devoted companion of Eileen Straube.
Born in Central Falls, he was a son of the late Elias and Julia (Berouty) Mardo and the stepson of the late Mary (Massud) Mardo.
Mr. Mardo was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. He was self-employed, managing his real estate property until his retirement.
James J. Champeau
PAWTUCKET James J. Champeau, 69, of Summit Street passed away Thursday at home. He was the beloved husband of Linda (Rentes) Champeau.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late James J. Champeau Sr. and Anita (Dumont) Champeau. He resided in Pawtucket since 1986, previously residing in Cumberland.
Mr. Chapeau was a United States Army Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.
He was a machinist for American Insulated Wire for over 30 years, and later was an associate for Lowes for 5 years, retiring in 2006.
Stephen R. Simmons
PAWTUCKET - Stephen R. Simmons, 60 of Pawtucket died Monday, December 13, 2010 at Rhode Island Hospital. Born in Fall River, Massachusetts he was the son of Irene (Doherty) Simmons and the late Frank Simmons.
Prior to becoming ill, Stephen worked as a CPA for Riley Associates.
Mary A. Carr
LINCOLN - Mary A. Carr, 80, of Lincoln passed away peacefully at Hallworth House on January 2, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. Mary was the cherished wife of John P. Carr for 58 loving years. Born and raised in Central Falls, Mary lived most of her adult life in Lincoln. She was the daughter of the late James and Irene (Healey) OLeary.
Francis Z. Durand
FLORIDA - Francis Z. Durand, 93, born March 27, 1917 in Woonsocket, RI died January 3, 2011 in Palm Harbor, FL after a brief illness.
Son of the late Zedeor and Mary (Bashaw) Durand, brother of Victory (Byron) of Johnston. Married 61 years to the late Jeannette (St. Pierre). Eight children, - the late Emma, Paul (Oldsmar, FL), William (Pawtucket), Douglas (Tarpon Springs, FL), Susan Ritchotte (Davenport, FL), Stephen (Pawtucket), Nancy McAllister (Guntersville, AL), and Lynne Zygmont (Windham, NH). Grandfather of 18 and great grandfather of 11.
Florence A. Bussey
YUCAIPA, CA - Florence A. Bussey of Yucaipa, CA passed away on December 11, 2010.
She was born in Rhode Island to Agna and Muriel Pion on October 25, 1924. She married Raymond J. Bussey in 1943.
She is survived by two daughters; Elaine Proulx of Indio, CA and Carol Liaboe of San Jacinto, CA, two sons Raymond Bussey of Tomales, CA and Robert Bussey of Big Bear, CA., 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Dolores T. DeCosta
CUMBERLAND - Dolores T. DeCosta, 81 of formerly of One Mendon Road passed away Sunday in Palms West Hospital, Loxahatchee, FL. She was the wife of the late George DeCosta.
Born in Central Falls, she was the daughter of the late Arthur J. and Florence (Beauchamp) Palin. She resided Loxahatchee for the past 6 years previously residing in Cumberland for 45 years and New Bedford, MA.
She was a member of the Amalgamated Cotton and Garment Allied Industry Union for 26 years, the Cumberland Housing Authority and the AARP.
PAWTUCKET - Mary Walsh, 90 of 175 Broad Street, Pawtucket died Saturday, January 1, 2011 at the Evergreen Nursing Home after a courageous and dignified battle with lung cancer. She was the wife of the late Raymond H. Walsh who preceded her in death the previous year on the same date. They had been married 68 years. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth (Cassidy) and Edward Purcell.
Before retiring, she was employed by Glencairn Manufacturing. Mary was also a member of the Kennedy Housing Tenants Association.
Peter J. Pytka Jr.
CUMBERLAND: Peter J. Pytka Jr.40, passed December 30, 2010.
He was the husband of the late Tracy (Soares) Pytka.
He was a loving father to his children and will be sadly missed.
Born in Pawtucket, the son of Joan (Otis) Pytka and the late Peter J. Pytka.
He was the father of Peter J. Pytka III, Jaymee and Julia, and is also survived by a sister, Jessica Jean and her husband Scott.
William J. Matisewski
CUMBERLAND - William J. Matisewski, 85, of Citizen Street, passed away Monday in the Memorial Hospital, Pawtucket, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Helen (Marek) Matisewski, and they had been married for 61 years.
Born in Clinton, MA; he was the son of the late Stanley and Mary (Golash)Matisewski. He resided in Cumberland for most of his life.
He was a United States Army, World War II Veteran, serving during the European Theater of Operations.
