Central Falls Fire Chief Rene R. Coutu
LINCOLN: Central Falls Fire Chief Rene R. Coutu, 60, passed peacefully December 7th, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Denise (Godin) Coutu. They have been married for 33 years.
He was a 40 year member of the Central Falls Fire Department and Chief for the past 25 years. With grace and dedication Rene was also an Assistant Deputy State Fire Marshall, Chairman of the Fire Safety Board of Appeal and Review, past president of the RI Fire Chief's Association, and member of the International Fire Marshals Association.
Raymond W. Arnold
ATTLEBORO - Raymond W. Arnold, 79 formerly of South Main St., Attleboro died at the Caritas Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton on Dec. 3, 2010. A son of the late Joseph and Valeda (Carrier) Arnold, he had been employed as a worker in local jewelry and textile mills until his retirement in November, 1989. He had also been a LaSalette Brother from 1950 to 1966. Family Service Association was providing care to Mr. Arnold through its Guardianship Program.
Fernanda A. Correia
CUMBERLAND - Fernanda A. Correia, 82, of Curran Rd. died Tuesday in the Summit Commons Nursing Home. She was the beloved wife of Manuel Correia.
Born in Dareay, Mangualde, Portugal she was the daughter of the late Joaquim and Ana(DeSousa) Goncalves. She came to this country in 1969 settling in Cumberland.
She was employed by the former Health Tex Corp., in their Central Falls and Cumberland plants for 20 years until her retirement.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Cumberland.
Marie A. Cheetham
PAWTUCKET - Marie A. (King) Cheetham, President of Cheetham Mortuary, Inc. and a Pawtucket business woman for over 60 years died Monday at Philip Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence. She was born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late Henry J. and Elizabeth A.(Farrell) King. For a time she resided at Capitol Ridge of Providence where she enjoyed the company of the staff and fellow residents.
CUMBERLAND - Anita Valliere died on December 2 under the loving care of her sister Yvonne and husband Robert at their home in Coventry, RI after a lengthy illness. A memorial service will be held in the chapel at Notre Dame Cemetery, 359 Daggett Ave., Pawtucket, RI at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 9. A reception will immediately follow at Cantina DiMarco, 405 Mendon Rd., Cumberland.
Althea E. Thompson
Cumberland - Althea E. (Fowler) Thompson, 94, of Old Diamond Hill Road died Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Emerald Bay Manor, Cumberland. She was the wife of the late Earl N. Thompson.
Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late Harris E. and Emma (Brown) Fowler, she had lived in Cumberland for the past 45 years.
James A. Riley
PAWTUCKET - James A. Riley, 79, of 422 Armistice Blvd. passed away Saturday,December 4, 2010. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Patrick J. and Margaret C. (McSally) Riley.
Mr. Riley was a US Navy Veteran serving during both the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
He is survived by two sisters, Barbara Fleury and Joan Daley both of Pawtucket; a brother, Dennis Riley of Little Compton; a cousin, Margaret Silva of Pawtucket; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was also the twin brother of the late William Riley.

Marie M. Madden
PAWTUCKET - Marie M. (Glenn) Madden, 95, of Old Diamond Hill Road Cumberland, formerly of Ferncrest Drive, Pawtucket, passed away Saturday at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island. Marie was the wife of the late Jean D. Madden, Sr. for 72 years. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Marie was a daughter of the late Matthew T. and Margaret (Burke) Glenn.
Aida L. Silveira
EAST PROVIDENCE - Aida L. Silveira, 86, of East Providence died peacefully on Dec. 5, 2010 at Chestnut Terrace nursing home. She was born in Brava, Cape Verde.
A daughter of the late Candido and Julia Lopes. She came to this country 23 years ago settling in Central Falls. She is survived by children: Julia L. Baptista of E. Prov, Domingos Lopes of Pawt and Maria Cecilia Martins of Pawt., 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
PAWTUCKET - Margaret DiSanto, 100 of Pawtucket entered eternal life on Wednesday at the Evergreen Nursing Home in East Providence surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Victor DiSanto. Born in East Providence, she was the daughter of the late Isadore and Antonetta (Guglielmo) DeMeo. Margaret was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will forever remain the hearts of those who knew her. Having just celebrated her 100th birthday in September, Margaret's life is one to be celebrated.
Stella H. Rutkowski
PAWTUCKET- Stella H. (Szaldak) Rutkowski 95, formerly of Hanover Avenue passed away Friday November 26, 2010 at Home And Hospice Care of RI. She was the beloved wife of the late Alexander J. Rutkowski.
Born in New Bedford a daughter of the late George and Apolonia (Sienkowski) Szaldak. She lived in Pawtucket for 75 years.
Before retiring she was employed as a Receptionist for the former Luckett Studios.
She was an Artist and taught Art to Senior Citizens in Attleboro and Pawtucket.
Howard W. Ballou
PAWTUCKET - Howard W. Ballou 68, died on November 25, 2010, at Landmark Medical Center.
Born in Providence, he lived in Pawtucket most of his life. He leaves behind two sons, Jason H. Ballou and his wife, Karen of Providence, and Ryan F. Ballou of Pawtucket and two grandsons, Garrett and Brandon Ballou of Providence, a sister, Judy Clark of North Kingston and many nieces and nephews.

Eileen M. LeBlanc
PAWTUCKET - Eileen M. LeBlanc, of Pawtucket died Thursday, December 2, 2010. She was the wife of Donald J. LeBlanc Jr.
Born in Pawtucket, Eileen was the daughter of Madeline (Callahan) McConnon of Pawtucket and the late Michael F. McConnon. She was an Administrative Assistant for the Pawtucket School Department for many years.
Besides her husband and mother she leaves her sons, Brendon M. LeBlanc and his wife Leslie and J. Bradford LeBlanc and her granddaughter Jaiden LeBlanc, all of Pawtucket.
