Joseph F. Rentes Jr.
PAWTUCKET - Joseph F. Rentes Jr., 68, passed away Friday at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital, Attleboro.
Born in Providence, he was the son of Florence (Ferri) Rentes and the late Joseph F. Rentes Sr. He resided in Pawtucket for many years.
He was a United States Army Veteran, serving in the intelligence field from 1965-1970.
PAWTUCKET - Sophie Zuba, 92, formerly of Bloomfield Street passed away Saturday May 3, 2014 the day before her 93rd birthday at Darlington Memory Lane Assisted Living in North Providence.
Born in Pawtucket she was a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Zietek) Zuba. She was a life long resident of Pawtucket.
Before retiring in 1986 Sophie was employed by the Rhode Island School Lunch Program, working in the Pawtucket School Department for 10 years. Prior to that she worked at the former Moore Fabric of Pawtucket for 35 years.
PAWTUCKET - Alice (Jack) Lima, 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 1, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late Macey Luiz Lima. Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Eliza (Marks) Jack.
Alice leaves a sister, Irene Vogel of Cumberland and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Edmund Joaquim, Aurora Cunha, Rosalind Torres, Anthony and Raymond Jack.
CUMBERLAND - Roy Hilton, 63, of Bryant Street, died unexpectedly May 1st at home. He was the husband of Deborah (Patenaude) Hilton. Roy was born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Fred and Elizabeth (Pollitt) Hilton and lived most of his life in Cumberland. He had been employed as a diesel mechanic for Pasquale Trucking for several years before illness forced his retirement.
PAWTUCKET - Isabelle Turmel, 73, passed peacefully on May 2nd. She was the wife of Robert A. Turmel. They would have been married for 40 years in October.
Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Isabele (McAloon) Dougan. She had been employed as the payroll clerk by Moore Fabrics of Pawtucket for many years.
Besides her husband she is survived by Robert A. John P. and Andrew C. Turmel, and a grandson, Nathan.

Margery G. Chapman
PROVIDENCE - Chapman, Margery G., 85, died Thursday at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence. She was the wife of the late Kent Chapman.
Born in Minneapolis, MN, a daughter of the late Cyril and Margery (Lee) Davey, she has been a Providence resident for many years most recently living at the Tockwotton Home.
A registered nurse, she had worked for the Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket and The Visiting Nurses.
REHOBOTH- Helen Papas of Rehoboth, Massachusetts and formerly of Pawtucket passed away peacefully at home on May 2, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late Nicholas Papas.
Mrs. Papas was born in Pawtucket the daughter of the late Evangelos Spanos and Evangelia (Thanopoulos) Spanos. She was a homemaker.

Leon J. Therrien
ATTLEBORO Leon J. Therrien, 95, passed away Monday April 28, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was the beloved husband of the late Jennie (Hedyka) Therrien.
Born in St. Nazaire, Quebec, Canada he was a son of the late Joseph and Rose-Alma (Bergeron) Therrien. He resided in South Attleboro for the past 49 years and was formerly of Pawtucket.
Before retiring Leon was employed as a Wire Extruder for the former Collyer Insulated Wire Co. for 44 years.
Jeanne T. DeRoy
PAWTUCKET - Jeanne T. DeRoy, 87, of Pawtucket, died Monday at Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Maurice F. DeRoy. They had been married 67 years.
Born in Central Falls, she was a daughter of the late Adelard and Roseanna (Castonguay) Nadeau.
Mrs. DeRoy was employed as a sales associate for Ann & Hope Store in Cumberland for 18 years.
She is also survived by her son Daniel DeRoy and his wife Lorri Beth and several nieces and nephews.
John K. Dunn
PAWTUCKET - John K. Dunn, 70, of Pawtucket, died April 25, 2014. He was the husband of Maureen (Sullivan) Dunn and husband of the late Beatrice (Dubois) Dunn. Mr. Dunn was born in Pawtucket. He was a son of the late Everett and Helen (Morelli) Dunn. He was employed by Fagnant Carpet Co. of Warwick for ten years until his retirement two years ago.
Paul E. Papineau
LEESBURG, FL - Paul Ernest Papineau, 65, Leesburg, FL. passed away on April 23, 2014. Mr. Papineau was born on June 17, 1948 in Central Falls, Rhode Island to his parents Ernest H. and Marthe Papineau.

PAWTUCKET - Albert J. Van Dale Jr., "Boody", 71, of Pawtucket, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014. He was the husband of Carol (McDonald) Laliberte-Van Dale. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Albert and Margaret (Morin) Van Dale.
Kathleen F. Costa
LINCOLN - Kathleen F. Costa, 78, of Old River Road, died Sunday, April 27, at Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. She was the companion of thirty-three years of the late Jacqueline Beattie.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Leapio and Alice (Horibin) Costa, she had lived in Pawtucket and Manville, before moving to Lincoln six years ago.
Miss Costa worked at Texas Instruments for thirty-four years, retiring as a Group Leader in 1998.
Esther M. Villeneuve
PAWTUCKET - Esther M. (Fritz) Villeneuve, 91, formerly of Oneida Street, died Sunday, April 27, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Home, East Greenwich surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Herbert J. Villeneuve.
Born in Titonka, Iowa, a daughter of the late Albert and Mary (Sprick) Fritz, she had lived in Pawtucket for 65 years.
Mrs. Villeneuve was a bookkeeper for the Blackstone Valley Gas & Electric Credit Union before retiring.
She attended Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa.
James John Shea
NEWPORT, NC - James J. Shea, 69, formerly of Cumberland, died Tuesday, April 8, 2014 surrounded by his family at Crystal Coast Hospice House in North Carolina. He was the loving husband of Barbara A. (Roy) Shea.
Born in Pawtucket he was the son of the late James A. and Mary (O'Connor) Shea. He was raised in Cumberland and resided there until he moved to North Carolina in 2003.
He was the co-owner of Shea's auto body and also worked several years at Hattaras Yachts before retiring in 2011. During his retirement he volunteered for Habitat for Humanity.
Dorothy Mae Piche
CENTRAL FALLS - Dorothy Mae Piche, 86, of Blackstone Falls, entered into eternal life on Monday. Born in Pawtucket a daughter of the late Ernest and Gertrude (Houston) Vashey.
Dot had been a waitress for the former Gerry's Catering for several years.
She leaves her son Robert Piche of Pawtucket and a sister Joan Sossville of Central Falls. She also leaves her 2 granddaughters, Jessica and Sarah Piche. She was the sister of the late Edward Vashey and Gertrude Lebeau.
Her funeral will be at the convenience of the family.
CENTRAL FALLS - Jorge Pires, 51, passed away Sunday after an illness. Born in Sao Miguel, the Azores, a son of Maria (Rodrigues) Pires and the late Domingos Pires. He has lived in Central Falls for more than 40 years. He and his late father operated Pires fish market until his father passed away. He had also been employed at NEPTCO for several years.
