Claire J. Jeffrey
ATTLEBORO - Claire J. (Galarneau) Jeffrey, 75, former business owner, downtown business advocate and tireless volunteer, of Kendall Avenue, Attleboro, died on Sunday, July 10, 2011 at the Epoch Senior Healthcare of Norton. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert D. Jeffrey to whom she was married on September 26, 1958 and who died on January 28, 2003.
WARWICK - Dolores (Cotnoir) Quinn 100 years young, passed away peacefully at her home on Melbourn Rd., Warwick on July 12 surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie Ann (Paradis) Cotnoir. Del was the devoted wife of the late John F. Quinn, former Pawtucket mayor (1933-37).
Joao F. Pires
PROVIDENCE: Joao F. (John) Pires was born November 8, 1976 in the Republic of Cape Verde. At the age of 8, John and his family immigrated to the U.S where he resided in Brockton, MA for 11 years. At the age of 19 John joined the US Army where he served honorably for 4 years. Upon his return from service, John moved to Rhode Island where he met and married Andrea Fontes. Andrea and John had twin sons. John was a resident of Providence, RI.
Richard J. Martel
PAWTUCKET - Richard J. Martel, 56 of Pawtucket died at home on Friday (July 8). Born in Pawtucket, a son of Dorothy C. (Breault) Martel and of the late Joseph R. Martel, he had been a lifelong resident of the city. Prior to retirement about twelve years ago, he had been employed at the Metallon Company.
James M. Levasseur
NO. PROVIDENCE - James Michael Levasseur, 27, of May Street and also of Buttonwoods, Warwick, passed away tragically from injuries of an automobile accident in Warwick on Friday. He was the son of Daniel Levasseur of Pawtucket and Gail Delomba.
Savannah Rose DaGraca
NORTH CAROLINA - Savannah Rose DaGraca, infant daughter of SPC Onassis (U.S. Army) and Kerri (Gendreau) DaGraca of Fort Bragg, North Carolina was born June 28, 2011, and went to join the angels on July 5, 2011. Savannah passed away at Duke University Hospital, Durham, North Carolina.
Dolores L. Bourget
PAWTUCKET - Dolores L. Bourget, 82 of Pawtucket died Friday at the Pawtucket Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Providence she was the daughter of the late Robert E. and Mary L. (Byron) Foster. She was a Pawtucket resident most of her life.
She is survived by two sons, Roger P. Bourget of Woonsocket, and Danny D. Bourget of North Providence; a daughter, Diane Brown of Pawtucket; a brother, James Foster of East Providence and Mimi's munchkins, Boomer, Michael, Danny, Shannon, Sean, Cherizar, Roger and Nicholas.
LINCOLN - Habib "Murphy" Nassaney, 90, of Carriage Drive died Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Hebert Nursing Home, Smithfield. He was the beloved husband of Alice (Sarkas) Nassaney.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Anthony and Mary (Sawaney) Nassaney, he was raised in Central Falls and had lived in Lincoln for the past 38 years.
He was the owner of H. (Murphy) Nassaney Carpet Installation, Lincoln for 20 years, retiring in 1986.
Edgar G. Robideau
CENTRAL FALLS - Edgar G. Robideau, 73, of Central Falls, died on Saturday at the Home & Hospice Care of RI in Providence. He was the husband of Therese (Martin) Robideau and had been a resident of Central Falls for over 40 years.
Born in Cumberland, a son of the late Henry and Yvonne (Lemay) Robideau, he was a communicant of Holy Spirit Catholic Community.
Prior to retirement nine years ago, he had been employed as a machinist at Owens-Corning Fiber Glass for 20 years and subsequently at Chadwick's Yarn.
Rose A. Lantagne
NORTH SMITHFIELD - Rose A. Lantagne, 80, of North Smithfield and formerly of Pawtucket died July 10, 2011 at St. Antoine Residence. She was the wife of the late Norman J. Lantagne.
She was born in Pawtucket and had lived in Pawtucket for most of her life. She was employed by A.T. Cross Co. until her retirement.
Mary F. Bergeron
PAWTUCKET - Mary F. Bergeron, 77 of Pawtucket died Thursday at the MemorialHospital of RI in Pawtucket. She was the beloved wife of Arthur Bergeron. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., a daughter of the late Andrew and Antoinette (Morettini) Marchi, she had been a resident of Pawtucket for many years, and was a communicant of Our Lady of Consolation Church.
PAWTUCKET - Maria Carlos, 82, passed July 8th at Summit Commons. She was the wife of the late Jose Carlos.
Born in Sao Nicolau, Cape Verde, a daughter of the late Joao and Anna (Lopes)Jacinto.
She had been employed by Interpack and School House Candy for several years.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Alice Morais, Maria Lopes and Lucinda Pereira, 4 sons, Joao, Luis, Jose and Rudolfo Lopes, a sister, Germana Lopes, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Margaret M. Flanagan
PAWTUCKET - Margaret M. Flanagan, 84 of Warwick Road, Pawtucket died July 7, 2011 at the Pawtucket Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late David J. Flanagan. She was born in Pawtucket, the daughter of Joseph and Martha (Corbett) Marran.
Mrs. Flanagan was part of the office staff at Ledgemont Country Club for many years. She was also very involved in her community as a member of both the St. Mary's Seniors and St. Leo's Seniors groups.
Elizabeth A. Thompson
PAWTUCKET - Elizabeth A. (Stowik) Thompson, 75, a retired medical secretary, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2011. She was the beloved wife of the late John L. Thompson.
A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Stanley J. and Annie (Conlon) Stowik. Elizabeth was a graduate of Bryant College and enjoyed spending time at the beach.
Marcel O. Duphily
PAWTUCKET - Marcel O. Duphily, "Slim" 86, passed July 6, 2011 at the Miriam Hospital, Providence. He was the husband of the late Ella E. (Parker) Duphily.
He was the son of the late Origene and Marie Rose (Bonin) Duphily.
Slim had been employed by Miriam Hospital for many years retiring in 1987.
He was a member of the Forand Manor Association, an avid card player, a sports enthusiast and enjoyed his time with the grandchildren.
PAWTUCKET - Manuel Prata, 76, of Fortin Avenue, died July 6, 2011 at Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket. He was the husband of Mary (McCann) Prata to whom he had been married for fifty-five years. He was born on Pawtucket, the son of Manuel and Julietta (Tavares) Prata.
After serving his country in the U.S. Army, Manuel worked as a machinist for Narragansett Wire in Pawtucket and for the Pawtucket School System.
Selena M. Caidin
PAWTUCKET - Selena M. (Holden) Caidin, 100, a retired educator, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2011. She was the beloved wife of the late Samuel Caidin.
Born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Thomas and Sarah (Noble) Holden, she resided in Pawtucket most of her life.
Mrs. Caidin was a Lieutenant in the Red Cross during World War II and a graduate of URI.
She leaves two brothers, Lawrence Holden of Lincoln and Thomas Holden of Cumberland and many nieces and nephews.
PAWTUCKET - Anna "Rita" Hosey, 91, a lifelong resident of Pawtucket died July 4, 2011. For the past nine years she resided at Evergreen House Health Center of East Providence where she received loving care. She was the wife of the late William P. Hosey.
Anna was born in Pawtucket the daughter of the late John and Mary (Rogers) Goodwin.
Mrs. Hosey was a longtime Communicant and member of St. Joseph's Church in Pawtucket where she was a past president of the Mother's Club and an active supporter for The White Sisters.
