PAWTUCKET - Mary Batista, 93, of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully, Saturday, October 19, 2013 at the Mansion Nursing and Rehabilitative Home, Central Falls. She was the beloved wife of the late James Batista and the late Lewis L. Soares Sr. Born in Lisbon, Portugal, the daughter of the late Jose and Clementina (Silva) Costa. She came to America at the age of 10. She had worked at the former Standard Romper, Central Falls and Lawrence Fashions, Pawtucket, until her retirement. She was also a member of the ILGW.
Joseph M. Larence
CUMBERLAND - Joseph M. 'Pete' Larence, 96, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Mt. St. Rita Health Centre, Cumberland. He was the beloved husband of the late Alice (Gobeil) Larence for 59 years. He was born in Central Falls, the son of the late Ernest and Alida (Laliberte) Larence and he was a lifelong resident of the Blackstone Valley.
Michael P. Sherlock
CUMBERLAND - Michael P. Sherlock, passed away October 17, 2013 after a long illness. He was born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Emmett and Mary (Gula) Sherlock and lived in Pawtucket several years before moving to Cumberland. He had been employed as a fork-lift operator at the former Ann & Hope for more than 40 years and also worked at Stop & Shop in Seekonk for more than 6 years, retiring in 2010 due to illness. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.
Marguerite E. St. Pierre
LINCOLN - Marguerite E. St. Pierre, 85, passed at the Philip Hulitar Center on October 21st with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of the late Henri J. St. Pierre.
Born in Central Falls, Marguerite was a daughter of the late Odias and Virginia Fortier.
CUMBERLAND - Marjorie (Almeida) Blanchette, 76, of Cumberland, passed away Friday, October 18, 2103. She was the beloved wife of Robert Blanchette. They were happily married for 59 years. Born in Attleboro, Ma she the daugther of the late Pauline (Mederios) Silva and Venanzio Almeida.
Mrs. Blanchette lived most of her life in Cumberland. She was employed at Health Tex for many years as a shipper and also worked as a school bus monitor before retiring.
Raymond J. Palin Sr.
CUMBERALND - Raymond J. Palin Sr., 87, of Rosemont Ave., passed away Thursday in the Miriam Hospital, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Yvette R. (Boucher) Palin.
Born in Pawtucket he was the son of the late Arthur and Florence (Beauchamp) Palin. He resided in Cumberland for the past 66 years.
Mr. Palin was a steamfitter working out of Local 476, Cranston and later in Providence until his retirement in 1987.
CENTRAL FALLS - Virginia (Gouveia) LeDoux, 89, died Friday, October 18, at Sunny View Nursing Home, Warwick.
Born in Lincoln, a daughter of the late Anthony and Theresa (Texiera) Gouveia, she was a lifelong resident of Central Falls.
She worked as a saleswoman for Terrace Shop, Pawtucket. and was a member of the YWCA. She was a communicant of the former St. Matthew's Church, now Holy Spirit Parish, Central Falls.
Olympia M. Teixeira
CUMBERLAND - Olympia M. Teixeira, 85, of Mill St. passed away Tuesday in the Memorial Hospital, Pawtucket.
Olympia Teixeira grew up in the Valley Falls section of Cumberland and lived with her mother Sabina, father Antonio, brother Ernest Teixeira and sister Zulmira Edes.
Olympia did many community activities with her friends and coworkers. She graduated from Cumberland High School and then worked at Corning Glass Co., Sydney Blumenthal and Peterson Puritan where she worked for over thirty years and helped many Portuguese people get their first jobs.
Stephen P. Garrity
EAST PROVIDENCE - Stephen P. Garrity, 56, of Rumford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 15, 2013. Born in Providence, he was a son of Virginia A. (Gagner) Garrity of Riverside and the late Leo V. Garrity. Stephen worked as a union painter; officer; trustee and instructor of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades. He was a lifelong sports fan; an avid fan of football and loved animals.
Paul E. Robin, Sr.
PAWTUCKET - Paul E. Robin, Sr., 92 of Pawtucket died Tuesday at the Holiday Retirement Home in Manville, RI. He was the husband of the late Margaret M. (McVeigh) Robin. Born in Waterloo, Canada he was the son of the late Napoleon and Josephine (Bissonette) Robin. He came to the United States in 1932 and settled in Pawtucket.
Dorothy P. Gauthier
PAWTUCKET - Gauthier, Dorothy P. (Newsham) 90, formerly of Cumberland and Pawtucket passed away peacefully, Sunday, October 13, 2013, at the Pawtucket Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. For 64 years, she was the beloved wife of the late Leo A. Gauthier who predeceased her in 2010.

PROVIDENCE - LaMountain, Marie T., "Terry", 77, of Enfield Avenue, died peacefully Monday October 14, 2013, at EPOCH Senior Living Center. She was the former wife of Russell W. LaMountain.
Born in Central Falls, she was a daughter of the late Lucien and Rose (Coulombe) Vaillancourt.
Terry was a secretary for Allendale Insurance Company for many years before retiring in 2001.
Kathleen M. Zwolenski
PAWTUCKET - Kathleen M. Zwolenski, 63, passed on October 11th. She was the wife of the late Raymond J. Zwolenski. Kathy lived in Pawtucket all her life and summered at Matunuck Beach.
Dennis T. Golda
PAWTUCKET - Dennis T. Golda, 90, of Columbine Avenue passed away Friday October 11, 2013 at the Oakhill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Pawtucket. He was the beloved husband of the late Sophie M. (Szumilo) Golda.
Born in Pawtucket he was a son of the late Stanley and Wanda (Ciolkosz) Golda. He was a life long resident of Pawtucket.
Before retiring Dennis was a Television Repairman for Lutz Television of Pawtucket for 40 years.
CENTRAL FALLS - Erminalda Fonseca, "Minai", 62, passed on October 9th. She was the wife of the late Emanuel Baptista Fonseca.
Born in Brava, Cape Verde, she was the daughter of the late Hipolito V. Fontes and Lucilia (DaLomba) Fontes of Pawtucket. She had been employed by Hasbro Industries for over 20 years.
Alice M. Kutniewski
PAWTUCKET - Alice M. Kutniewski, 93, of Japonica Street passed away Tuesday October 8, 2013 at Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island. She was the beloved wife of the late Stanley J. Kutniewski.
Born in Central Falls she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Fryc) Grygiel. She lived in Central Falls for most of her life.
CUMBERLAND - Antonio Chavier, 81, went to be with the Lord on October 9th with his loving wife by his side.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia (Oliveira) Chavier and his four children, daughter, Tesha, son, Eric Chavier and his wife Cindy, daughter, Monique Chavier and son, Kenneth Chavier and four grandchildren.
He was a member of Local 251 Teamsters and worked as a Truck Driver for 42 years before retiring in 1989.
Thomas F.P. Kerr
PAWTUCKET - Thomas F.P. Kerr, 78, passed on October 8th, with his family by his side. He was the husband of Susan J. (Putnam) Kerr.
Thomas was the manager of Walpole Recycling/Stop & Shop for 15 years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by many loving children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
