Paul R. Durocher
ATTLEBORO - Paul R. Durocher, 62, of Locust Street, Attleboro, MA passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA.
He was born in Pawtucket, the son of the late Raymond and Janice (Pride) Durocher. Mr. Durocher was a Systems Analyst for the Robert Allen Group in Foxboro, MA.
Paul is survived by his daughter, Emma L. W. Durocher of Attleboro, MA, and his sisters, Joyce Applegarth of California, Carol Masterson of Seekonk, MA and Nancy Pepin of Pawtucket, RI.
Aline G. LeClair
PAWTUCKET - Aline G. (Marot) LeClair, 92, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 14, 2013. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter C. LeClair. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Armand and Alice (Cote) Marot. Mrs. LeClair was a seamstress and homemaker, but most of all a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
SMITHFIELD - Julio Coia 91, a resident of North Bay Manor, passed away on June 14, 2013. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 69 years, Irene G. (Mello) Coia. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Giulio and Angela (Capaldi) Coia.
Julio was a Supervisor for the former Valley Gas Company. He was an Army Veteran of WWII. Julio loved to golf, ballroom dance, and spend quality time with his family.
George J. Metfooney
SEEKONK - George J. Metfooney, 80, died at the New Bedford Rehabilitation Hospital on Friday, June 14, 2013 after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Carmela (Gentile) Metfooney. He was born in Pawtucket, the son of the late John and Hapel Metfooney, and lived in Pawtucket and nearby Seekonk for most of his life.
George was the owner/operator of Cousin's Food Store and Restaurant in Pawtucket. He was also a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War.
Lucille T. Laporte
CENTRAL FALLS - Lucille T. Laporte, 81, passed June 14, 2013. She was the loving wife of the late Arthur L. Laporte. Born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Wilfred and Mary-Jane (Raymond) Maurice.
She had been employed as a winding technician for many years, retiring from Quality Ribbon after 20 years.
James B. Downing
CUMBERLAND - James B. Downing, of Cumberland passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Kathleen (Peranzi) Downing. They had been married 47 years.
Mr. Downing was born in Providence the son of the late Michael Downing and Mary (Smith)Downing.
He was a truck driver for the Coca Cola Company for many years. In recent years Jim was a bus driver for the Durham Bus Company in Cumberland.
Mary B. Welsh
PAWTUCKET - Mary B. (Russell) Welsh, 80, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2013. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph R. Welsh. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late John and Margaret (McCrystal) Russell. Mary worked as a bookkeeper for Rhode Island Medical Imaging for 42 years until retiring in 1997.
Omer J. Sicard
PAWTUCKET - Omer J. Sicard, 74, died peacefully on Friday, June 14, 2013 at Home and Hospice Care of Rhode Island, Providence. He was born in Pawtucket, the son of the late Omer and Imelda (Samson) Sicard and lived his entire life in the Blackstone Valley. He retired after more than thirty years as a froster from Osram-Sylvania, Central Falls. Omer was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Korea during the Vietnam Era.
Raymond E. Riendeau
PAWTUCKET - Raymond E. Riendeau, 80 of Pawtucket died Friday at his home. He was the husband of the late Claire(LaPorte) Riendeau. Born in Albany, VT he was the son of the late Eugene and Gertrude (Authier) Riendeau. He has been a Pawtucket resident most of his life.
Raymond is a Navy veteran and served on the USS Oriskany in the Korean War. Prior to his retirement he was employed for many years by the City of Pawtucket and was a Sexton at St. Cecilia's Parish in Pawtucket, RI. He was involved in Cub and Boy Scouts Troop 28 at St. Cecilia's and a member of LeFoyer.
William A. Kaplan
CUMBERLAND William A. Kaplan, 64, passed away Tuesday June 11, 2013 at his residence.
Born in Pawtucket he was a beloved son of the late Walter A. "Jimmy" and Pauline (Vasiliev) Kaplan. He was a life long resident of Cumberland.
He was employed by the Cumberland School Department as a Custodian and prior to that he worked for the former Newman Crosby Steel Co. for 25 years.
Bill was a Vietnam Veteran serving as a Sergeant with the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Filibuster Club of Cumberland.
Antoine "Tony" C. Boulanger, Jr.
PAWTUCKET - Antoine "Tony" C. Boulanger, Jr., 85, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013. He was the beloved husband of the late Muriel (LaPorte) Boulanger and the former husband of Thelma L. (Rose) Boulanger. Born in Warren, a son of the late Antoine C. and Bertha (Mikulski) Boulanger, he resided in Pawtucket most of his life.
Tony was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He was a news photographer for The Times for over thirty years until retiring. Tony was also a writer, painter and avid Rhode Island history buff.
Maria M. Sousa
PAWTUCKET - Maria Manuela Sousa, 71, passed peacefully at Memorial Hospital of RI June 12th with her loving family by her side. Born in P. Delgada, Azores a daughter of the late Manuel Tomaz Pimentel and Angelina De Jesus Cabral.
She is survived by two daughters, Fatima Da Costa of Nashua NH, and Margarida Sousa of Central Falls, three sons, Jaime Sousa and Paul Sousa of Pawtucket and Steve Sousa of Providence, 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren that she loved dearly.
Rita B. Prosser
LINCOLN - Rita B. Prosser, 76, passed peacefully at home on June 11th with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of the late Thomas G. Prosser Sr.
Born in Central Falls, a daughter of the late Armand and Yvonne (Hamel) Benoit.
Rita had been employed by Ann & Hope of Cumberland for over 20 years and then worked for Aramark Food Service at the Central Falls High School. Rita was a member of the Lincoln Senior Center, enjoyed Bingo at Franklin Manor and was avid about her daily walk with her dear friend Peggy Lass.
Raymond J. Hebert
PAWTUCKET - Raymond J. Hebert, 88, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Estelle R. (Hemond) Hebert. The couple would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on June 28th. Born in Central Falls, a son of the late Alcide and Rose A. (Maurice) Hebert, he resided in Pawtucket since 1990.
Ray was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He was a Lead Man in the Shipping Department of Hasbro for over 30 years until retiring in 1987. An avid golfer and bowler, Ray was a longtime member of St. John Vianney Seniors Group.
Henry J. Fortin
NORTH PROVIDENCE - Henry J. Fortin of North Providence and formerly of New York City, New York died on June 10, 2013.
Mr. Fortin was born in Pawtucket, the son of the late Armand J. Fortin and Madeline L. (Sartini) Fortin. He was employed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency for many years before he retired in 1996.
Mr. Fortin was a World War II Veteran serving in the United States Army.
Rita B. Seguin
RUMFORD - Rita B. Seguin, 94, passed June 10th at the Pawtucket Skilled Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late Maxime F. Seguin.
Born in Lowell, MA, she was a daughter of the late Francis and Marie (Blanchette) Moris.
Rita had been employed the former Cadillac Textile Mills.
She is survived by two sons, Andre Seguin and his wife Linda, and Edmond Seguin and his wife Martha, 6 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Rita was the last of 19 Siblings

Richard T. Arruda
PAWTUCKET - Richard T. Arruda, 58, of Lawton St., Pawtucket, passed away at Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket, RI on Monday, June 10, 2013.
Born in Providence, he was a son of William Arruda of Charlestown and the late Shirley Arruda.
Richard worked for the Highway Dept. for the City of Pawtucket for many years until his retirement in 2010. He liked the Red Sox, the Patriots and NASCAR and enjoyed walking on the beach.
Gerald J. Jacob, Sr.
PAWTUCKET - Gerald J. Jacob, Sr., 82, of Pawtucket passed away at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Hospice Center on June 10, 2013. He was the loving and devoted husband of Theresa (Benjamin) Jacob for sixty years. He was the son of the late Osias and Eva (Malouin) Jacob and brother of the late Renee Jacob, Osias Jacob, Gladys Beaubien and Cecile Racine. He was a Korean War Veteran.
Ho Wong Ip
PAWTUCKET - Ho Wong Ip, 94, of Roosevelt Avenue died Sunday, June 9, 2013 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence. She was the wife of the late Fat Ip.
Born in Hong Kong, she was a member of the Chinese Christian Church of Rhode Island, Pawtucket.
Roland M. Belanger
PAWTUCKET - Roland "The Mailman" M. Belanger, 87, passed away Friday, June 7, 2013. He was the beloved husband of the late Edna C. (Boulais) Belanger. Born in Central Falls, the son of the late Marcel and Medora (Doucette) Belanger, he resided in Pawtucket since 1949.
