Susan W. Verdon
LINCOLN - Susan W. Verdon, 92, of Wake Robin Road died Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Miriam Hospital, Providence.
A lifelong resident of Lincoln, she was a daughter of the late George W. and Kathleen M. (Keaney) Verdon.
Miss Verdon was a housekeeper and a companion, and later was a bookkeeper for Chase Metals before retiring.
Joan E. Trelease
LITTLE COMPTON - Joan E. (Walsh) Trelease, 71, entered into eternal life on Monday, May 27, 2013. Born in Boston, she was a daughter of the late Dr. James T. and Dr. Phyllis Walsh-Sullivan and the step-daughter of Dan Sullivan.
Nora B. Moore
PAWTUCKET - Nora B. Moore, 59, of Ballston Avenue, Pawtucket passed away on Monday, May 27, 2013. She was the wife of David Yuells.
Nora was born in Fairbanks, Alaska, the daughter of the late Thomas Moore and Josephine (Paine) Moore. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island in Pawtucket for many years.
Besides her husband Nora is survived by her sister Patricia Matthies of Aurora, Colorado and her two rescue dogs Brownie and Sybil.
PAWTUCKET - Leo Robert Breault, who turned 82 on the 15th, entered into eternal life May 24, 2013 in Missouri at the home of his daughter Deborah A. Walker.
Leo was born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Louis and Anita (Baril) Breault. He had been employed as an inspector at the former Slater Dye Works of Pawtucket for 17 years retiring in 1993. Leo was also a US Army Veteran of the Korean War and had been a communicant of St. Leo the Great Church.
PAWTUCKET - Jean Kelley, 93, of Pawtucket passed away Saturday, May 25, 2013. She was the wife of the late James H. Kelley. Born in North Attleboro, MA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Annie (Vadnais) Walsh. She had been retired for many years, previously employed by L. G. Balfour and the Douglas Young Company. She was a member of Saint Leo The Great parish for over 50 years. Her loving personality, generosity, and humor will be missed by her many relatives and friends.
George E. Pye
BRADENTON, FL. - George E. Pye, 91, of Bradenton, Fl. died May 15, 2013. Born in Pawtucket, he moved to Bradenton in 1989 from South Attleboro. A Veteran of thQe US Army 26th Yankee Division, 101st Infantry, highly decorated including a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church, the American Legion, ELKS Lodge, numerous golf leagues, and he was the owner of Set-Rite Stone Settings.
Francis A. Szumilo
CENTRAL FALLS Francis A. "Frank" Szumilo, 90, passed away Friday May 24, 2013 at Harris Health Care North. He was the beloved husband of Genevieve V. (Zakowski) Szumilo. They were married 64 years.
Born in Central Falls he was a son of the late Stanley and Sabina (Peliksza) Szumila. He was a life long resident of Central Falls.
Before retiring Frank was employed as a Maintenance Supervisor for the former Health-Tex Manufacturing Co.
Exina L. Sullivan
PAWTUCKET - Exina L. Sullivan, 95, of Pawtucket passed away on Friday, May 24, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Louis Sullivan.
Mrs. Sullivan was born in Albion, RI the daughter of the late Joseph Cartier and Hemelia (Gagnon) Cartier.
Margaret F. McLaughlin
LINCOLN- Margaret F. (Bannon) McLaughlin, 83, of Musket Road died Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Oak Hill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Pawtucket, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of John J. McLaughlin.
Born in Taunton, Mass., a daughter of the late John E. and Mary F. (Atridge) Bannon, she had lived in Lincoln for the past thirty years.
Mrs. McLaughlin worked alongside her mother as the administrator of the former Bel-Air Nursing Home, East Providence.
PAWTUCKET - Mary Thomas, neĂ© Doyle, passed peacefully from this world on May 22, surrounded by her family. Born on May 11, 1946 to Beatrice and Laurence Doyle, Mary is survived by her brother Larry Doyle and his wife, Kathy, her daughter Lori Thomas, her grandson Justin Thomas and his wife, Danielle Thomas, her son, Dennis Thomas and Dennis's partner, Craig Pishotti. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Richard Thomas.
Born and raised in Rhode Island, Mary was a longtime resident of Pawtucket.
Robert J. Bliss
PAWTUCKET - Robert J. "Bob" Bliss, 84, of Winter Garden, Florida and formerly of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2013. Born on September 20, 1928 in Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Joseph and Florence (Collinson) Bliss.
Flore I. Fontaine
CENTRAL FALLS - Flore I. Fontaine, 97, formerly of Central Falls, died Monday at St. Antoine Residence, N. Smithfield. Born in Central Falls, she was a daughter of the late Oliva and Rosanna (Berard) Fontaine.
Miss Fontaine had been employed as a supervisor for Moore Fabric Co. until her retirement in 1975. She was a communicant of St. Mathieu Church prior to moving first to the Villa at St. Antoine and then to the residence. She had been a member of the Children of Mary, and the Golden Agers of St. Matthew, St. Cecilia and Notre Dame Churches.
JosĂ© N. ConceicĂŁo
PAWTUCKET - JosĂ© N. ConceicĂŁo, 77, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2013 at the Philip Hulitar Center surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Maria L. ConceicĂŁo. Born in Sta. Barbara, Algarve Portugal and was the son of the late JosĂ© B. ConceicĂŁo and Maria Lucinda Das Neves. He lived in Pawtucket and worked for Algar Construction before retiring. He was a member of the UniĂŁo Portuguesa Beneficente and the Portuguese Social Club of Pawtucket, RI.
Francis A. LaBree
PAWTUCKET - Francis "Tuddy" A. LaBree, 65, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 22, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Susan C. (Joyce) LaBree for 36 years and the late Sally (Leighton) LaBree. Born in Attleboro, he was a son of the late Francis W. and Dorothy M. (LeBrun) LaBree.
Frank was a supervisor at Englehard Industries, Plainville, MA, for over 25 years and was an avid baseball fan.
Joan L. Madden
REHOBOTH - Madden, Joan L., 78, of Peck Street, Rehoboth, Massachusetts, died on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of Leo Madden. They were married for fifty-two years.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late James and Alice (Amos) Glanvill and stepdaughter of the late Margaret (Morley) Glanvill, she lived in Rehoboth for the past thirteen years, previously living in Pawtucket and Providence.
Richard H. Campbell Sr.
PAWTUCKET - Richard H. Campbell Sr, "Dick" 72, passed on May 21, 2013. He was the loving husband of Donna M. (Lambert) Campbell. They have been married for 52 years.
He was the son of the late Leo and Loretta (Kelly) Campbell.
He had been as a machinist and toolmaker for many years and was the lead guitarist and vocalist of "Country Loving" and other bands since he was a child. He also taught guitar to many.
Mary T. Slaby
PAWTUCKET - Mary T. Slaby 93, of Jeanne Jugan Residence 964 Main Street passed away Sunday May 19, 2013 at Pawtucket Memorial Hospital.
Born in Central Falls she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Sophie (Koziol) Slaby.
Before retiring in 1980 Mary was employed as an Assembler for Carol Cable Co. for 44 years.
For many years Mary was a communicant and active member of St. Joseph's Parish in Central Falls, and a member of the former Ladies Auxiliary of the Orchard Lake Schools.
NORTH PROVIDENCE - Audrey Carolyn (Wulff) Quinlan of Swan Court, North Providence and formerly of Pawtucket died on Sunday May, 19, 2013. She was the wife of the late Francis B. "Lefty" Quinlan.
Mrs. Quinlan was born in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Louis and Anna (Scott) Wulff.
Thomas F. O'Brien
PAWTUCKET - Thomas F. O'Brien, 96, of East Ave., died at Landmark Medical Center on Friday. Born in Pawtucket a son of the late John J. and Delia A. (Flaherty) O'Brien.
Mr. O'Brien lived most of his life in the city. He was a letter carrier for US Postal Service for 31 years, retiring in 1977. He was a veteran of the US Army Signal Corps during WWII.
His only survivor was a friend, Noreen Sherys of Cumberland. He was the brother of the late John J. O'Brien and Winifred Gill.
