CENTRAL FALLS - Mrs. Theresa (Chrupcala) Vecoli, 94, died Sunday, October 21, 2012 at Baptist Village Retirement Communities after an extended illness. She was the wife of the late Al Vecoli.
Born in Fall River, she lived in Central Falls and later Jacksonville, Florida for many years. She was employed by Peninsula Pest Control in Jacksonville. She served in the US Army during WWII as a 1st Sergeant. Theresa was a daughter of the late John and Barbara Chrupcala.
Edgar J. Robinson
PAWTUCKET - Edgar (Eddie) J. Robinson, 73, of Pawtucket, RI and Boynton Beach, FL, Owner of Eds Town lounge in Pawtucket, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 21, 2012. Born on April 5, 1939, he was a son of the late Edgar J. Robinson and Dorothy (Deragon) Gadoury.
Edgar was a U.S. Navy Veteran.
Courtland N. McPherson
CRANSTON - Courtland N. McPherson, 62 of Cranston, and formerly of South Kingstown, passed away peacefully at Rhode Island Hospital Friday night.
Courtland was a dedicated Capitol Police officer for 27 years, retiring this past June. Courtland was a stoic man, but below his large exterior was a gentle giant with a love for life and a heart of gold.
Ruth E. Doctor
EAST PROVIDENCE - Ruth E. (Clarkson) Doctor, 92, of Newman Avenue, Rumford and formerly of Pawtucket died Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island, Pawtucket. She was the wife of the late Edmond H. Doctor.
Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late Charles and Blanche (McKeon) Clarkson, she had lived in Pawtucket for most of her life before moving to Rumford 11 years ago.
Mrs. Doctor was the owner of a ceramic studio before retiring. She had previously worked in a drug store.
Joseph D. Azar
LINCOLN - Joseph D. Azar, 84, passed away peacefully on October 16th surrounded by his loving family. Joe, the devoted husband of Alice (Hallal) Azar for 55 years. Born in Central Falls, the son of the late John and Nasema (Alam) Azar. Joe, the loving father to Joseph Azar, Jr. of Lincoln and to Valerie Dunn and her husband Thomas of Saunderstown. Granddaughters Brittany Dunn and Victoria Azar will forever cherish their Giddo.
Russell J. Sweeney
PAWTUCKET - Russell J. Sweeney, 80, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 18, 2012.
Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Albert T., Sr. and Edith M. (Noones) Sweeney. Russell was a US Army Korean War Veteran, having served with the 21st Field Artillery Battalion. He worked for Pawtucket Dye & Bleach and Microfibers, Inc. as a dye chemist until his retirement.
PAWTUCKET - Roland Riendeau, 69, passed unexpectedly October 17th. He was the husband of Micheline (Berger) Riendeau; they celebrated their 50th anniversary in May.
He was a son of the late Arthur and Aurore (Lauzon) Riendeau. He lived most of his life in Pawtucket. He had been employed as a foreman by Nissen Bakery of Central Falls for 32 years, retiring upon their closure. Roland was a dedicated volunteer at Memorial Hospital, Pawtucket for the past ten years. He loved spending time with his family.
CUMBERLAND - Grace "Gracinda" Afonso (Lopes), 71, of Ralco Way passed away Wednesday in the R. I. Hospital, Providence. She was the beloved wife of Alfredo Afonso.
Born in Pawtucket she was the daughter of the late Joao M. and Clementina (Albuquerque) Lopes. She was a lifelong Cumberland resident.
She was employed by the International Packing Co., Pawtucket for 42 years until her retirement.
Mrs. Afonso was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Cumberland.
PAWTUCKET - Mary Lopes, 96, of Pawtucket, went home to be with the Lord, October 16, 2012. She was the wife of the late Mariano Lopes.
Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late George and Ida (Zammat) Osso. Mary was a lifelong resident of Pawtucket. She was a member of St. Basil's altar sodality.
She is survived by her twin daughters, Dolores Spencer and her husband Harold, and Marion Johnson and her husband Karl, two grandchildren, Scott and Randy Spencer, and four great grandchildren.
Catherine R. Athaide
PROVIDENCE - Athaide, Catherine R. (Chevalier), "Kitty" 87, died October 15, 2012.
She was the wife of the late Raymond J. Paquette and the late Gerald Athaide; mother of Catherine M. (Philip) Kaminski and Raymond F. (Gail) Paquette; stepmother of Janice M. Gray, Gary G. (Christine) Athaide and Glenn A. (Kristina) Athaide; sister of Mary Jane M. Kapinos, the late Frank Chevalier and Ruth Letender. Also survived by nine grandchildren.
Charlotte A. Hull
PAWTUCKET - Charlotte A. Hull, 87, of Central Avenue passed away Sunday October 14, 2012 at Chestnut Terrace Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in East Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late Aloysius S. Hull Sr.
Born in Providence she was a daughter of the late Joseph L. and Mary F. (Cronan) McCall. She lived in Pawtucket for the past 52 years.
Before retiring she and her husband owned and operated the former Merry Go Round Caf and the former General Von Stubens Lounge both of Providence.
Anita E. Wims
PAWTUCKET - Anita E. (Kelly) Wims, 90, a loving wife and devoted mother, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 12, 2012. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis Mickey J. Wims.
Elaine A. Basque
ATTLEBORO - Elaine A. Basque, 64, died October 12, 2012 in Boston. She was the wife of James "Jimmy" Basque for over 31 years.
Born February 18, 1948 in Attleboro, she lived in Attleboro & North Attleboro all her life.
Elaine worked as an assistant buyer and administrative assistant at Englehard in Plainville which became Wolverine Joining Technology in Warwick where she celebrated 46 years with the company in June.
She is also survived by many devoted family & friends.
Henry T. Pado
CUMBERLAND - Henry T. Pado, 81, formerly of 1 Mendon Road passed away Thursday October 4, 2012 at the Rhode Island Veterans Home in Bristol.
Born in Pawtucket he was a son of the late Theodore A. and Mary (Jamros) Pado. He lived in Cumberland for most of his life.
Before retiring he was employed as a Traffic Manager for Watt Brothers Terminal of Lincoln for 20 years.
Mr. Pado was a Army Veteran of the Korean War serving as a Tech Sergeant with the 32nd Engineering Construction Co. He was a member of American Legion Post #14 of Cumberland.
Marina B. Lussier
ANSONIA, CT - Marina B. Lussier, 84, of Ansonia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on October 10, 2012, at Griffin Hospital in Derby, CT, with her loving family by her side.
Mrs. Lussier was born in Pawtucket, RI on September 29, 1928, daughter of the late Joseph and Juanita Castro Blanco. She was a self-employed make-up and skin care representative for Lady Finelle Cosmetics for many years until her retirement. Marina loved to travel, especially on cruises. She also enjoyed playing cards and bingo and most certainly lived life to its fullest.

CUMBERLAND - Doris A. Belair (Dot/Auntie Doris), 91, beloved wife of the late Edmond Belair died peacefully in her Cumberland home on Monday, October 8, 2012.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 16th at 10 am at St. Aidan's Catholic Church, Cumberland, RI. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket, RI. Constance M. Brochu
PAWTUCKET - Constance M. Brochu, 80, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2012. She was the wife of Marcel Brochu.
Born in Central Falls, she was the daughter of the late Omer and Maria (Giroux) Fontaine. Constance lived most of her life in Pawtucket. She was a director at B.V. Emergency Food Center for twenty two years.
Besides her husband she is survived by three children, Mark and Alfred Brochu, and Elizabeth Morgan; three sisters, Jeannette Laporte, Yvette Logan, and Pauline Fontaine; one brother, Omer Fontaine; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Timothy J. Shields
SEEKONK - Timothy "TJ" J. Shields, 46, passed away after a battle with cancer on Wednesday, October 10, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Kathie S. (Cabral) Shields for twenty years.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of William M. Shields of Pawtucket and the late Muriel R. (Kittredge) Shields, and the stepson of Dulce Shields of Pawtucket.
Lucy A. Lumnah
PAWTUCKET - Lucy A. Lumnah, 86, of Pawtucket, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2012. She was the wife of the late Eugene Lumnah. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Claremonde and Lucy (Campbell) Duarte.
She is survived by two sons, John and Raymond Lumnah; two daughters, Darleen Seward and Shayne Almeida; one brother, Arthur Duarte; eleven grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Louis, Robert, and Edmond Duarte, and Blondie Lafond.
Jose F. De Sousa
PAWTUCKET - De Sousa, Jose F., age 74, died October 12, 2012 at Pawtucket Nursing and Rehabilitation surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Doralice (Gomes) De Sousa. They were married for 46 years.
He is survived by his son Jaime De Sousa and his wife Doreen and 4 grandchildren all of Lincoln, 3 brothers and 3 sisters all of Toronto.
