Alice D. Hurd
EAST PROVIDENCE- Alice D.(Walz) Hurd, 87 formerly of Toner Street, Rumford died Thursday July 12, 2012 at Heatherwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Newport.
She was born in Holyoke, Ma. a daughter of the late Jacob and Dora (Scholl) Walz.
Mrs. Hurd was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Pawtucket Memorial Hospital before retiring.
William T. Moreau
SEEKONK, MA - William T. 'Bill' Moreau, 54, died unexpectedly on Wednesday at the Miriam Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
He was the beloved husband of Nancy A. (Ryan) Moreau for 28 years. He was born in Central Falls, RI, the son of the late Oscar and Claire (Chartier) Moreau and lived in the Blackstone Valley until moving to Seekonk 24 years ago.
Mr. Moreau was a graduate of Bridgewater State College and was a biology teacher at the Advanced Math and Science Academy in Marlborough, MA; he was admired for his passionate devotion to his students.
CENTRAL FALLS- Raymond J. Gauthier Jr, 54, passed on July 12th.
Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of Helen (Gill) Gauthier and Raymond J. Gauthier Sr.
He had been employed for many years by Harris Industries and previously worked laying the Alaskan Pipeline from its beginning to end.
Ray served aboard the USS Nimitz from 1974 to 1980; he then served as a Seebee from 1986 to 1980.
Besides his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Robert Gauthier of Pawtucket and Michael Gauthier of California.
Aida Nunes Henao
CUMBERLAND- Aida Nunes Henao, 74, of Cumberland, died Sunday at Greenville Skilled Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late Manuel Nunes.
Born in Lisbon, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Tomas and Alice Silva.
Her sons, Manuel "Manny" Nunes and his wife Eileen of Cumberland and David J. Nunes of Arizona, her brothers Tony, Fred and Fausto Silva, her sisters Clotilde Almeida Batista DaSilva, Amelia Costa and Dolly Packard, and her grandchildren Nicholas and Cassidy Nunes survive her.
PAWTUCKET- Sophia (Carlson) Stewart, age 96, passed away on July 11, 2012 at the Genesis Healthcare Pawtucket Center with her loving family by her side. She was married for sixty years to her beloved husband, the late Robert Stewart.
A long time resident of Pawtucket, Sophia was the daughter of the late Roy and Annie (Whyte) Carlson and was the sister of the late Dorothy Read, the late Edwin Carlson and the late Thomas Carlson.
Doris I. Flynn-Gomes
PAWTUCKET- Doris I. Flynn-Gomes, 62, of Pawtucket, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2012 surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Anthony Gomes.
Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late George and Irene (Boissonneault) Pommenville.
Doris was a lifelong resident of Pawtucket.
Sister Mary Gibson
LEOMINSTER- Sister Mary Gibson, 84 formerly known as Sister Mary Rose, of the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, died Thursday July 12, 2012 at St. Mary's Heath Care Center in Worcester, MA.
Sister Mary was born in Pawtucket, RI on May 11, 1928, a daughter of the late Joseph and Emma (McCarrion) Gibson.
She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Pawtucket, RI, and entered the Sisters of the Presentation in 1947, professing her final vows in 1952.
CRANSTON - George A. Bishop, Jr., 63, of Lillian Lane died Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at home. He was the husband of Rosemary (Antico) Bishop.
Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of Ann M. (Goyette) Bishop of Pawtucket and the late George A. Bishop, Sr, who died on July 2nd. Mr. Bishop had lived in Merrimack, NH for 15 years and Apex, NC for 3 years before moving to Cranston this past February.
Mr. Bishop was a senior software engineer for Fidelity Investments in Merrimack, NH for 10 years and Durham, NC for 4 years. He was a graduate of Tolman High School and Blake Computer Institute.
PAWTUCKET - Bernard M. Milone, 86, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2012. The son of the late Emanuele M. and Bernadette (Lantagne) Milone, he resided in Pawtucket most of his life.
Mr. Milone was a World War II Army Veteran and a member of the DAV. He served in the Rhineland and Central Europe Campaigns and was awarded the Purple Heart; Combat Infantry Badge and the European African Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon with two Bronze Stars.
PAWTUCKET - Moreau, Catherine ("Kay") M. a lifelong resident of Pawtucket, Rhode Island died July 10, 2012 at The Philip Hulitar Center, Providence, RI. She was the widow of Leonard J. Moreau.
Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Edward F. and Catherine (Lynsky) O' Donnnell.
PAWTUCKET - Edward J. Nason, 54, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2012.
Born in Providence, he was a son of Carolyn M. (Finnegan) Moul, Ronald "Pa" J. Moul and Paul R. Nason. Eddie worked for the Pawtucket Water Supply Board before retiring several years ago. He enjoyed fishing and cooking and he loved dogs.
WOONSOCKET - Marcel R. Hetu 80, of 547 Clinton St. died Monday at Oakland Grove Health Care Center. He was the husband of the late Lucille (Lambert) Hetu.
Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Alfred and Lila (Beaudoin) Hetu. Marcel was a Machinist for EG & G Sealol Co. for over fifteen years. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and served in the Third Infantry Division from 1952-1954. Marcel was an avid Yankees fan.
PAWTUCKET - Jeannette J. Rochford, of Lowell Avenue, Pawtucket died July 8, 2012.
Mrs. Rochford was born in Pawtucket the daughter of the late Gilbert and Robertine (Gauthier) Arundale.
Mrs. Rochford is survived by her sons, Thomas Rochford and Alfred Rochford and her daughters Karen Rochford, Barbara Clermont and Michelle Duncan. She also leaves a sister Theresa Marques and ten grandchildren.
PAWTUCKET - Mary Silva, 88, of Duncan Avenue, Providence and formerly of Florida and Pawtucket passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012 surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Silva was born in Fall River MA, the daughter of the late Marcelino Carvalho and Erminia Souza. She was employed at Joyal Van Dale for over seventeen years before she retired.
Mrs. Silva is survived by her daughter Doreen Laughlin of Providence, her grandsons, Richard and Preston Laughlin, her great grandsons Isaac, Daeshaun, Malik Laughlin and her great granddaughter Vinyah Laughlin.
LINCOLN - James L. Bullock, 53, of Lincoln, died Sunday at home. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Donald H. Bullock Sr. and Jean (Lussier) Bullock.
He is survived by his sister Lynn M. Iannelli and her husband Kenneth, brothers Donald H. Bullock Jr. and his wife Susanne, Bruce B. Bullock and his wife Diane, nieces Melissa Goding, Bethany Ellis and Jessica Bullock, nephews Eric Paul, and Andre Henault. He was the loving uncle of many great nieces and nephews.
Jimmy was the brother of the late Paul Rounds.
LINCOLN - Donald E. Batty, died Thursday, July 5, at the Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island. He was the husband of the late Alice(Scott) Batty and the late Harriet (Politt) Batty.
Born in Valley Falls, he was a son of the late William R. and Mary (Campbell) Batty,
Mr. Batty was a Vice-President of Manufacturing for Standard Nut & Bolt Co.
PAWTUCKET - Couto, Manuel M., 74, of Rhode Island Avenue, Pawtucket, passed away peacefully at Rhode Island Hospital on Friday, July 6, 2012. He was the loving husband of Maria P. Couto.
Mr. Couto was born in St. Miguel, Azores, the son of the late Antonio and Clementina (Medeiros) Couto. He retired after working more than 20 years at American Insulated Wire.
Beside his wife, Manuel leaves his son, Tony P. Couto of East Providence and his daughter, Sandra P. Couto of Pawtucket.
Rose M. Gould
LINCOLN: Rose M. Gould, 80, passed July 5th after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Everett Gould.
Born in Fall River, MA, a daughter of the late Peter E. and Margaret (Kerwin) Provost.
She had resided in Pawtucket for most of her life then in East Providence for 20 years. She resided the past five years with her daughter, Rosemary and her son in law Steven Tetreault.
She had been employed by American Textile and Seekonk Lace Inc. She also worked at the Miriam Hospital in Housekeeping for 10 years.
SEEKONK- June Elaine Marchand, 86, of Perrin Avenue, Seekonk, died unexpectedly on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at the residence she had resided in her entire life.
Born in Seekonk, Massachusetts on January 31, 1926, she was a daughter of the late George Marchand, Sr. and Doris (Thornton) Marchand. She graduated from Seekonk High School.
Miss Marchand was employed as an assembler for Triangle Wire in Seekonk for many years prior to her retirement.
She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church in Seekonk.
Susan L. Jencks
CUMBERLAND- Susan L. (Vose) Jencks, 68, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 5, 2012. She was the beloved wife of the late Herchal Jencks.
Born in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Fred I. and Marion S. (Spelman) Vose.
Susan was a waitress at the former Meadowcrest Restaurant on Mendon Rd., Cumberland for many years and also worked as a CNA at The Holiday, Manville. During her free time she enjoyed playing bingo.
