Nicole S. Johnson
LINCOLN- Nicole S. Johnson, 15, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 2, 2012.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of Jaclyn Vaccaro and Charles Johnson.
Nicole loved to paint; spending time with her younger siblings and helping other children.
MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR Joan (Shearing) Faria
Will be held on Monday, October 8th at 10 A.M. Our Lady Queen of Martyrs, Seekonk, MA to be followed by a gathering at the Elks. Family and friends are invited to attend.
John P. Wiencis
PAWTUCKET- John P. Wiencis, 87, of Appleton Avenue passed away Friday October 5, 2012 at the Rhode Island Veterans Home in Bristol. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary L. (Nyzio) Wiencis.
Born in Pawtucket he was a son of the late William and Monica "Rose" (Tocko) Wiencis. He lived in Pawtucket for 52 years and was formerly of Central Falls.
Before retiring in 1983 he was employed as a Glass Worker for the former Corning Glass Works now (Osram-Sylvania) of Central Falls for 37 years.
Helen L. Bartlett
JOHNSTON- Helen L. Bartlett, 77, of Johnston and formerly of Pawtucket, passed away Thursday, October 04, 2012.
Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Aldea (Gobeil) Plante.
Helen was a telephone operator for New England Telephone, now Verizon for many years, retiring in 2000.
She is survived by her children, Lisa Humphrey and David Bartlett, her sister, Janet DePetrillo, four grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was the sister of the late Jacqueline Cunningham and Pauline Mulligan.
Yvette M. Fortin
PAWTUCKET - Yvette M. Fortin, age 83, died peacefully at the Home and Hospice Care of Rhode Island, Tuesday, October 2, 2012 surrounded by her family. She was the beloved and devoted wife of the late Arcade J. Fortin.
Mrs. Fortin was born in Pawtucket, the daughter of the late Philippe and Juliette (Martin) Bertrand and was a lifelong city resident. She was a proud homemaker, an avid BINGO player and a big fan of Wheel of Fortune.
PAWTUCKET - Doris Collette, 83, a lifelong resident of Pawtucket, passed away Friday, September 28, 2012. She was the wife of the late Leo J. P. Collette.
Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Adelard and Aldea (Ferland) Blain. Doris was a secretary and treasurer for Duffy's Auto for 27 years.
She is survived by a daughter, Lorraine Knight, two grandchildren, Brenda Burns and John Knight, and two great grandchildren, Briana and Caroline Knight. She was the sister of the late Gerard, Roland, and Philip Blain.
Claire Jean Legare
1934 - 2012
MONCTON, NB - Claire Jean Legare, 77, of Moncton, NB; passed away peacefully at her residence, on Saturday, September 29th, 2012.
Born in Central Falls, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Yvette (Moreau) Fournier.
Claire is survived by her sister Aline Crawford; two nephews Denis and David Murphy; and one great niece Klaudia Rogers.
Besides her parents, Claire is predeceased by her husband Leo E. Legare (2011)
Rita G. Dalpe
PAWTUCKET - Rita G. Dalpe, 91, of Pawtucket, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2012. She was the wife of the late William C. Dalpe.
Born in North Providence, she was the daughter of the late Edmond and Germaine (Chicoine) Batalon. Mrs. Dalpe was a lifelong resident of Pawtucket.
Ernesto Xavier DePina
CENTRAL FALLS - Ernesto "Ernie" Xavier DePina, 25, died September 29, 2012, at Rhode Island Hospital surrounded by family and friends.
He was born on May 10, 1987, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the son of Jose Olimpio DePina and Margarida Xavier-DePina. He was the second eldest son of three boys and one girl.
He is survived by his parents, Jose Olimpio DePina and Margarida Xavier-DePina, his sister, Dilce Lawson, his brothers, Joseph and Danny DePina and his loving grand parents, aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins.
Elsie E. Conner
JOHNSTON - Elsie E. Conner, 93, died on September 30, 2012 at Morgan Health Center. She was born in Central Falls, RI. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Eva (Major) Conner. She worked at Pawtucket Memorial Hospital in the Maternity ward for 50 years until her retirement in 1999 where she was affectionately known as Red. She was a member of Smithfield Ave. Congregational Church.
She is survived by 1 nephew David Bardsley of New York, 1 niece Nancy O'Brien of Johnston, 1 great-niece, 1 great-great-niece and 1 great-great-nephew.
John F. Fanning
CUMBERLAND - John F. Fanning, 64, of Eddy Street, passed away Thursday in the Philip Hulitar Center, Providence.
Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Francis J. and Madeline A. (Hunt) Fanning. He was a resident of Cumberland, and Craftsbury, VT.
John was a retired steamfitter for over 40 years, working out of Local 51, previously Local 476 of Rhode Island. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman.
He was a member of the Cumberland Beagle Club.
