PAWTUCKET â€” Whether you like your Halloween fun to be scary or â€śilluminating,â€ť there are activities in Slater Park this weekend that fits both bills.
Beginning on Friday at 6:30 p.m., Slater Park will host â€śFright Night in the Park.â€ť Halloween events will take place on Friday and Saturday evenings only, through Oct. 26 (with the exception of inclement weather).
EAST PROVIDENCE â€“ In recognition of the cityâ€™s improving financial performance, Standard & Poorâ€™s Ratings Services Tuesday raised East Providenceâ€™s general obligation bond rating five notches to â€śAâ€ť from â€śBB+â€ť.
â€śThe higher rating is based on our recently released local general obligation criteria, as well as the cityâ€™s improving financial performance and liquidity position and lower long-term pension liabilities,â€ť said Standard & Poorâ€™s credit analyst Victor Medeiros.
PAWTUCKET â€” Thanks to some tireless lobbying on the part of city officials and local legislators, Pawtucket won approval to have a second neighborhood designated as a state-designated â€śEnterprise Zoneâ€ť offering tax incentives to new or expanding businesses.
