A work crew from E.W. Audet and Sons Inc. was busy installing new lights at McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket this week. A total of 278 light bulbs are being installed that will be brighter and more energy efficient than the ones they’re replacing.

City man faces numerous drug charges

PAWTUCKET — A 19-year-old city man, John Demonte Alarcon, was arrested on numerous drug charges on Thursday following an investigation by members of the Pawtucket Police Special Squad.
According to Pawtucket Police, this investigation began on information provided by neighborhood residents and anonymous sources. Based on their findings, a court-approved search warrant for an apartment on Hatfield Street was executed on Thursday.

Mayor’s ‘Downtown Dialogue’ draws many

PAWTUCKET — On Thursday night, every table and booth was occupied at Plouffe's Cup 'n Saucer, and the Main Street diner buzzed with lively conversation. However, finding ways to maintain the momentum at this and other downtown businesses was the reason why so many had gathered, and the topic of a meeting called by Mayor Donald Grebien.

New council meets, hints at clashes

PAWTUCKET — Fresh from Monday night's inauguration, the City Council convened for a regular meeting on Wednesday, taking up a variety of housekeeping items but also hinting at possible clashes with the mayoral administration over some issues in the coming months.
