Alliance again lent its support for the annual performance of the
PAWTUCKET â The intent is good: to make Park Place more of an efficient entryway to the downtown. Yet, a proposal by the city's Planning Department to make the westerly side of the street two-way and remove the existing on-street parking has upset many who are involved in local businesses, churches and non-profit agencies located there.
PAWTUCKET â The second span of the new Pawtucket River Bridge is expected to open as early as today, according to Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) officials.
The opening of the span will allow RIDOT to shift I-95 South to the new span and fully lift the bridge's 18-ton weight limit, which requires trucks and other large vehicles to use local detours or longer highway detours.

Yet, realizing that today's âsmart phonesâ and other electronic devices can also serve as mini-computers, school officials are starting to re-think the policy that bans them from classroom use completely.
