The church is celebrating its 100th anniversary. The fun continues Saturday and Sunday with plenty of traditional Greek food, pastries, drink and more dancing.

Gomes enjoys the art of capturing love on film

PAWTUCKET — Brittany Leigh Gomes has had an affinity — and eye — for photography since she was just a young girl growing up in Pawtucket.
“I have loved photography for as long as I can remember,” said the 26-year-old Gomes. “My first camera was a Fisher-Price camera when I was a toddler and I have been upgrading ever since.
“It wasn't until I attended a wedding in 2007 that I fell in love with wedding photography.”
Gomes started a photography business in 2009 and has been slowly and steadily been building it ever since.

Candidate uses debt clock in campaign

PAWTUCKET — For the past 15 years, Bill Greenwood has been tracking the nation's debt on his own version of the national debt clock that is posted on the front of his Sayles Avenue home. Now, with the figure about to hit the $16 trillion mark, Greenwood is once again calling for a change in the way government operates, and the local Republican candidate for City Council has joined his cause.
