PAWTUCKET â€” Ending an unsavory saga, Pawtucket Firefighter Cody Reed has pleaded no contest to one count of felony assault on a young teenage girl in exchange for a reduction in a previous count of third-degree sexual assault and dismissal of another charge.
Reed, 40, who lives on Second Street in Pawtucket, entered the nolo plea before Associate Justice Judith C. Savage in Superior Court in Providence on Thursday afternoon. The plea comes just over a week after his trial that ended in a hung jury.
