Ferri back on City Council

CENTRAL FALLS — Although he acknowledges that serving on the City Council will be “a little bit different this time,” Bob Ferri says he is pleased and honored to be once again representing the residents of Ward 2 from a position in city government.
Ferri, 65, of Cottage Street, was the winner of Tuesday's special election to fill the Ward 2 council seat that had been held by Richard Aubin. He will return to the five-member City Council for the remainder of Aubin's four-year-term, which runs until November of 2013.

Three to be honored for founding youth group home

PAWTUCKET — Three local men will be honored (two of them posthumously) on Saturday, June 23 for their efforts in founding Turning Point, formerly the Pawtucket Boys Club Group Home, in 1973.
A ceremony to unveil a plaque dedicating the Turning Point group home to Nicolas Retsinas, along with the late Michael Pappas and Gary P. Paparo, will be held at 10 a.m. at the Turning Point facility at 5 Kids Way in Pawtucket. Members of the public are invited to attend.
