Manhole covers reported stolen from new subdivision

LINCOLN – Police are investigating the theft of a number of metal manhole covers from a new subdivision under construction off Angell Road.
The property's developer found six or seven of the heavy metal covers missing from an area of the development's incomplete roadway Tuesday morning, Patrolman Brian L. Molis reported.
The Lincoln Meadows development has several occupied homes located on the paved roadway, which becomes a dirt road in the area where numerous undeveloped lots are located, according to Molis.

Igus Inc. plans to build large facility in East Providence

EAST PROVIDENCE — The city got some great economic news last week when Planning Director Jeanne Boyle announced that igus Inc. has resurrected plans to build a 145,000-square-foot manufacturing warehouse and office facility on property the Rumford-based company owns behind the old Handy and Harmon building on Ferris Avenue.
Boyle told City Councilors that the company's plans to build the warehouse and office facility have been in the works since 1991 with company officials receiving preliminary approval from the Planning Board in 2008.
