PROVIDENCE (AP) â€” The daughter of former Providence Mayor Vincent "Buddy" Cianci Jr. was found dead Friday morning of an apparent overdose, police said.
An autopsy will be done to determine the cause of death of 38-year-old Nicole Cianci, police Cmdr. Thomas Oates III said.
Authorities responded to a residence in the city's Federal Hill neighborhood for a report of an overdose and found Nicole Cianci, who was pronounced dead at the scene, Oates said. He said she was with a male roommate, whom she had been living with for the last few weeks.
PAWTUCKETâ€”Two men were arrested by the Pawtucket Police Special Response Team following an almost five-hour standoff on Grotto Avenue on Wednesday afternoon.
According to Major Arthur Martins, at around 3:15 p.m., police were called to a second floor apartment at 24 Grotto Ave. for a reported disturbance. Additional information that was received indicated to police that one or more suspects may be armed with some type of gun. Initial reports suggested that the incident was a domestic violence situation, but this was later proven to be false, he said.

President Obama is unopposed on the Democratic side, but there is a column for uncommitted delegates.
