Benefit Holiday Concert

The Wakefield Concert Band (a 75-piece orchestra) will be performing its Holiday Season Concert from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15 in the sanctuary of the Chinese Christian Church of Rhode Island, located at 333 Roosevelt Ave. in Pawtucket. This will be a benefit concert for the Adams Memorial Library in Central Falls. Tickets at the door are $5 each. Whitehouse, Grebien add to Diossa endorsements

CENTRAL FALLS – City Councilman James Diossa keeps racking up big-name Democratic endorsement for his mayoral campaign.
On Tuesday, U.S. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse and Pawtucket Mayor Donald Grebien added their names to those supporting Diossa, who won 59 percent of the vote in a five-person primary on Nov. 6. He faces the second top vote-getter, former Police Chief Joseph Moran, who garnered 18 percent of the primary vote, in a run-off election next Tuesday.

Jingle Mingle helps out Times Merry Christmas Fund

PAWTUCKET — All was merry and bright at the Grupo Amigos De Terceira on Saturday night as the community came together for The Times' “Jingle Mingle” dinner dance.
Decorated in its Christmas finery, the Community Center at 55 Memorial Dr. provided an elegantly festive backdrop for the Jingle Mingle, held to benefit The Times' “Merry Christmas Fund.” Grupo Amigos De Terceira, Inc. joined The Times in hosting the event, which raised $2,700 for the fund.
