WOONSOCKET â Roger Brissette and his sister Vivian will never forget their little brother Ronald, who got drafted in 1965, went to Vietnam a year later, and died during The Battle of Loc Ninh Plantation on June 11, 1966.
âI think about Ronnie every day,â Roger, now 72, admitted last week after sending his brotherâs picture to this newspaper for publication on the Military Page.
A combat friend of Ronnie got in touch with Roger in 1996, setting off a discovery process for the remaining Brissette family members.
PAWTUCKET â It sure looks good on a resume. Shea High School is the only high school in the nation right now to hold a charter from the American Society of Public Administration for its Government and Public Administration Academy.
When this newspaper asked area veterans to gather at a local war memorial for the group photo that appears on the cover of this special Memorial Day section, I was a little apprehensive. We had unwittingly scheduled the photo shoot for Armed Forces Day. Some veterans were off flagging graves that day. Others had prior commitments.
