Davies showcases its stuff

May 27, 2011

LINCOLN — Davies Tech junior Jorge Bonilla has a code he lives by, and that's to learn everything he can not only about his major interests, but new and exciting information as well.
That's why the Central Falls resident was so busy running around at the eighth annual Davies Community Showcase/Cabaret, held at the school Thursday night.
One minute, he played photographer, and the next, he had hustled to the Debate Club's table. Moments later, he stood at the Robotics Club table with classmate and fellow member Nate Hindman explaining how the six-wheeled “Zeus” worked.

May 27, 2011

CENTRAL FALLS – The city's Special Investigations Unit raided yet another brothel, this one at 34 Watson St., on Monday, and in the process arrested a city man and a New Jersey woman on respective charges of pandering and prostitution.
Police took into custody 27-year-old Steven Castillo, who hails from the city and is a Superior Court violator. Because of that violation from a previous delivery charge, he received a five-year sentence. He also is being held on $10,000 surety bail for the new count of pandering, and has a pre-arraignment conference slated for July 28.

STAND and DELIVER: Group forms Save Our Post Office

May 27, 2011

CUMBERLAND – From the time Derrick Watson was a mere six-year-old boy, his mother always taught him “Nothing beats a failure but a try.”
That's just one reason he's organized a community group called “The Concerned Citizens of Valley Falls – Save Our Post Office.”
When he found out the Valley Falls Post Office indeed would shut its doors for business back on May 5, he immediately began working on an appeal.
