Man killed in fire

While battling a fire that killed a man and injured another at 681 Broadway in Pawtucket Tuesday night, a Pawtucket firefighter on Ladder 2 uses a Pike’s Pole as smoke and flames pour from the third floor of the six-family residence. The fire appears to have started in the rear of the third floor. One man was severely injured in the fire. He was taken to Memorial Hospital, according to Battalion Chief Timothy Mercer. The man later died. The second victim was reportedly recovering at Memorial Hospital.

Cyber-bullying program at Jenks/JMW library Wednesday night

Attention Pawtucket Jr. High and High School Parents and Educators: The District will hold a free workshop called "Passport 2 Social Media."
The subject is cyber-bullying and digital abuse; how to spot it, how to stop it. This workshop is scheduled at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 27 in the Jenks/JMW library and will last about 90 minutes.
