Jury selection begins in stabbing trial

November 7, 2011

WOONSOCKET — Jury selection is expected to begin today in the Superior Court trial of a man accused of repeatedly stabbing his girlfriend to death in their Park Square apartment in March 2009.
But the victim’s mother, Jo-Ann Boyer of Pawtucket, said she is still hopeful that accused killer David P. Leite will cop a plea and spare family members the trauma of a trial.
“We’d like to have some closure after all this time,” said Boyer. “But none of us is looking forward to having to live through all this again.”
