CENTRAL FALLS - Stella Chlebek, 93, passed into the hands of the Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, November 15, 2014. Born in Central Falls a daughter of the late Michael and Victoria (Niewola) Chlebek.
She was the beloved mother of Alice Webb. Beloved grandmother of Heidi, Halie, Holly and Reese J. Webb.
She was the sister of the late Walter, Joseph and Stanley Chlebek. The family would like to thank the staff at RI Hospital and Beacon Hospice, especially Barbara Chlebek, for their care and compassion.

SEEKONK - Norma L. (Tootell) Smutek, 66, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 15, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert M. Smutek. Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late George M. and
Mildred (Guarde) Tootell.
Norma worked at GTE Osram Sylvania, Central Falls, for many years until retiring over ten years ago. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family and friends.

PAWTUCKET - Russell A. Durning, 87, of Pawtucket, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2014. He was the husband of the late Margaret (Murphy) Durning. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Leon and Eva (Parent) Durning.
A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, Russell was a machine operator for the former St. Regis Paper Company for 35 years, retiring in 1992. He was an army veteran of World War II. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Delaney Council.

PAWTUCKET - Donald L. Breault, Jr., 52, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 13, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Lee M. (Moore) Breault for thirty years. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, he was a son of Donald L. Breault, Sr. and Carol A. (Kent) Breault. Don was employed by Teknor Apex for twenty-three years.
Besides his wife and parents, he leaves a daughter, Nicole S. Breault; a son, Donald L. Breault, III; a brother, David W. Breault; a sister, Susan L. Thorpe; a grandson, Leo Charles DeGulio all of Pawtucket and many nieces and nephews.

LINCOLN – The common denominator among Lincoln High varsity softball teammates Stacey Mayer and Adriana Toro and baseball standout Mason Palmieri on Thursday afternoon was this: Utter relief.

For months or even years now, the trio of seniors had been sure as to where they would further their academic and athletic educations, but admitted to feeling “stressed out.” The reason: They couldn't wait to make it official.

PROVIDENCE – Dozens of dogs, from the smallest shih tzu to the most massive mastiff, came together at the Rhode Island Convention Center Saturday and Sunday for the 21st annual Rhode Island Pet Show.

Among the myriad options for animal lovers during the weekend-long festivities included obedience and distraction training demonstrations, agility demonstrations, live judging and competition by breed, the Pet Dog Parade of Breeds Dog Show, and more.

St. Raphael Academy Football | STUNNED – Saints knocked out by Johnston, 33-31

PAWTUCKET – Johnston High pulled off the upset of the year on Friday night, knocking unbeaten St. Raphael Academy out of the Division II playoffs with a stunning 33-31 victory at Pariseau Field.

Johnston utilized the Wing-T offense formerly favored by the host Saints and tore holes in the SRA defense. Halfback Marc Conte ran for two touchdowns and scored another on a pick-six interception to spark the Panthers, who came into the game with a 3-4 league record. The Saints were 7-0.

Traffic stop ends in drug bust

PAWTUCKET – Two Central Falls men were charged with possession of cocaine – among other charges – after police found more than 158 grams of the drug in a safe in their car Thursday, authorities said.
Around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, two officers were on patrol in the city when they observed a vehicle travel through a stop sign at the intersection of Lonsdale Avenue and Hayward Street, police said.

PAWTUCKET - Marsha Lois (Henry) Kirkconnell, 76 years old, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at her home in Pawtucket, Rhode
Island.
Marsha
enjoyed her early career as a cosmetologist and stylist before joining Raytheon as a sub-assembler working on the Patriot missile defense system. She was actively involved in her community. She started the "Adopt-A-Kid" program, providing Christmas and Easter gifts for underprivileged children, and was recognized as an Anti-Hunger Hero by the Emergency Food Center in 1994.

City resident charged with beating teen

PAWTUCKET – A local man is facing a felony charge of second-degree child abuse after he struck a 15-year-old female relative with a belt several times, police said.
Joaquim L. Fontes, 47, was arrested Wednesday around 11:30 a.m., police Maj. Arthur Martins said. Fontes was having a discipline issue with a 15-year-old female relative at his Darrow Street residence, and he ended up striking her several times with a leather belt, which caused bruising, red marks, and scratches to her arms and back, Martins said.
Martins did not specify the relationship between the girl and Fontes.

Man robbed at gunpoint

PAWTUCKET – Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on Armistice Boulevard Monday night.
A 22-year-old man was walking on Armistice Boulevard near Littlefield Street around 8:20 p.m. Monday when he was approached by four men, police Maj. Arthur Martins said. The victim said three of the males were dark-skinned and one was light-skinned. One of the dark-skinned men had a handgun and pointed it at the victim, demanding he turn over his property, Martins said.

PAWTUCKET - Kathrin R. "Kitty" Keough of Pawtucket died on November 10, 2014.
Kitty was born in Central Falls, the daughter of the late James F. Keough and Frances J. (Bodell) Keough. She was employed at the Clients Choice Answering Service.
Miss Keough is survived by her Brothers; Daniel Keough and his wife Debra, James Keough, and William Keough. She also leaves her sisters; Jane Bartley, Elizabeth Bubier and her husband Dan, and Mary Rose Peloquin and her husband David.
Kitty was a loving Aunt to several nieces and nephews.

PAWTUCKET - Claire R. (Blanchette) Beaudette, 96, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late Herve Beaudette. Born in Attleboro, a daughter of the late Lionel and Mary (Lemieux) Blanchette, she resided in Central Falls before moving to Pawtucket over thirty-five years ago.
Claire had been a housekeeper at the Wannamoisett Country Club, and was previously a winder at American Insulated Wire Company for twenty-five years and at the Joyal VanDale Company for twelve years.

PAWTUCKET - David A. Wildenhain, 87, of Pawtucket passed away on Veteran's Day, November 11, 2014. He was the loving husband of Marceline (Brook) Wildenhain.
Mr. Wildenhain was born in Pawtucket the son of the late Bartholomew Wildenhain and Magdelyn (McGuirk) Wildenhain. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving in WWII.
David was a Union Carpenter for many years serving in the Local 342 Union.

REHOBOTH - Mary T. (Reilly) Handrigan, 91, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 7, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward "Ted" L. Handrigan and the daughter of the late Philip J. and Mary (Callaghan) Reilly. Mary was a lifelong Pawtucket resident, until moving to her daughter's home in Rehoboth
in 2006. She worked in the Advertising Department of both the Pawtucket Times and Sun Chronicle for many years until her retirement. Mary was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother; she also loved caring for her dogs, Raven and Reilly.
