CUMBERLAND â€“ The townâ€™s Diamond Hill Park off Diamond Hill Road has a new asphalt parking lot thanks to a $165,542 improvement project but Mayor Daniel J. McKee is asking the Town Council for an expansion of the work when it meets on Wednesday.
McKee said the Department of Environmental Management rules for use of the open space park allowed the initial paving project to cover just one acre of the available parking area at the one-time, state-operated ski area to be paved by the Cardi Corporation under the initial work.

With the triumph, Cumberland American not only captured the Rhode Island District IV Major Division crown, but also sealed a berth in next weekendâ€™s state tournament in Bristol.

PAWTUCKET - Arminda M. daLomba (Monteiro), 88, of Pawtucket, died July 13, 2014. She was the wife of the late Caledio daLomba. She was born in Brava, Cape Verde. She was a daughter of the late Antonio and Matilda (daCosta) Monteiro. She came to this country 46 years ago settling in Pawtucket. She was formerly employed by N.E. Paper Tube Co.
She is survived by her five children James and Tony daCosta, Carmen Rodrigues, Maria daGraca and John DosSantos. Twenty two grandchildren, thirty five great-grandchildren, two nephews and three nieces.
PAWTUCKET - June Dash, 87, of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, July 12, 2014. She was the wife of the late Henry J. Dash, Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Armand and Jane (Fox) Cartier.
Jeanne d'Arc Fournier
NORTH ATTLEBORO - Sister Jeanne d'Arc Fournier, SUSC of Madonna Manor, North Attleboro, died July 9, 2014 at the age of 93. She was born in Lawrence, MA July 20, 1920, daughter of the late Napoleon and Roseanna (Raymond) Fournier. In addition to her Holy Union Sisters, her brother Francis Fournier of North Attleboro, nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews survive her. Her sister Annette Logan and brothers Joseph, Donald, Romeo and Raymond predeceased her.
Robert G. Ostiguy
LINCOLN - Robert G. Ostiguy, 85, of Lincoln, died July 11, 2014 surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Tillier) Ostiguy. They had been married 55 years. Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late George A. and Antoinette E. (Bouchard) Ostiguy.
Mr. Ostiguy was employed as a plumber for Local #51 for many years prior to his retirement. He was a member of Rhody Oldies Hockey Club.
GREENVILLE, RI - Joseph Soares, 89, of Greenville, RI formerly of Attleboro passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2014 at Overlook Nursing & Rehab Center, Pascoag, RI. He was the husband of the late Edna N. (Surprenant) Soares.
Born December 20, 1924 in Fall River, MA he was a son of the late Jose and Mary (Martins) Soares.
