Barbara Ann Courtemanche
GREENVILLE - Barbara Ann (Potrais) Courtemanche of Greenville, RI and formally of Pawtucket passed away Monday, May 19th, 2014.
She was the daughter of the late Louis R. Potrais and Anna B. (Swindells) Portrais. She was also married to Richard W. Courtemanche for 27 years.
She leaves behind her son, Richard W. Courtemanche Jr., and his wife Kimberly. Her daughter, Mary Ellen Courtemanche. Her four grandchildren, Kara, McKayla, Brandon , Nicole and her three great grandchildren.
Mary Czech ( Piegza )
PAWTUCKET - Mary Czech, 93, passed away Wednesday May 21, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late Max A. Czech.
Born in Central Falls she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Sophie ( Hul ) Piegza. She was a life long resident of Pawtucket.
Before retiring Mary was a self employed Seamstress for 45 years.
Maria C. Delgado
PAWTUCKET - Maria C. Delgado, 94 of Pawtucket died Tuesday at Evergreen Nursing Home East Providence. She was the wife of the late Joaquim L. Delgado. Born in Santa Maria, Azores a daughter of the late Antonio and Maria (Almeida) Correia Mrs Delgado had been a Rhode Island Resident over 50 Years. She had been a communicant of St. Anthony Church Pawtucket.
She is survived by Three sons, Mario Delgado and Eduardo both of Pawtucket and Joseph Delgado of Warren, R.I, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

PAWTUCKET â€” Springtime may have finally sprung in southern New England, but Pawtucketâ€™s bats remain in a deep slumber.
The offensive doldrums that have plagued the locals for much of the season perhaps simmered to a boil during the eighth inning of Tuesdayâ€™s disheartening 3-0 loss to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, winners of three games in this four-game set. With two runners on base and the potential tying run at the plate, the PawSox turned to their Nos. 4 and 5 hitters in the hope seeing a ball disappear over the McCoy Stadium fence.
CUMBERLAND â€” Cumberland and Lincoln have hooked up in some interesting late-season matchups over the years, and on Tuesday afternoon, they continued this tradition with an extra-inning barnburner at Tucker Field.
After watching Lincoln score an unearned run in the top of the eighth inning, Cumberland came back to snag a dramatic 8-7 victory in its half of the frame on a clutch two-out, two-run single to right field by ace pitcher Juliet Nelson.
CENTRAL FALLS â€“ A Central Falls business owner was sentenced to three months probation and ordered to pay restitution to three former employees for unpaid wages in the amount of $2,614.45.
Milad Shabo, 50, with a last known address of 1325 Broad St., pleaded nolo contendere on May 16 in Providence District Court before Justice Elaine T. Bucci to one count of violating a final order of the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training in violation of Rhode State law pertaining to payment on separation by employer.
John "Scottie" Allan
PAWTUCKET - John "Scottie" Allan, 82, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 19, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Phyllis C. (Dickens) Allan for fifty-six years. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, a son of the late James and Elizabeth (McGarril) Allan, he resided in Pawtucket since 1959.
John was employed by the Rich Paper Box Company, Providence for many years until retiring in 2001. He was an avid New England sports fan; enjoyed playing cards and was a member of the DIP Club for many years.
M. Louise Langlois
CUMBERLAND - M. Louise Langlois, 98 formerly of Cumberland, passed away Monday in the St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield.
Born in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Sarah (McCaffrey) Langlois. She was a lifelong resident of Cumberland.
Miss Langlois was a school teacher in the Cumberland School District for 44 years.
She was a communicant of St. Patrick Church, Cumberland.
She was a member of the St. Patrick Seniors and a participant at the Hamilton House, Providence.
Leo T. Poirier
SMITHFIELD - Leo T. Poirier, 89, formerly of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 16, 2014 with family by his side. Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Theodore and Yvonne (Forcier) Poirier. Leo was a United States Army veteran of both World War II and Korea. He worked as a cost estimator at the former Collyer Insulated Wire Co., Lincoln for many years until retiring in 1988. Leo was a member of the DIP Club; LeFoyer and the American Legion. He was an avid fisherman and especially enjoyed spending time with his family and dear friends.
Robert V. Gordon
PAWTUCKET - Robert V. Gordon, 58, a truck driver, passed away April 20, 2014. Born in Palmer, MA, he was a son of Lucy M. (Beaulieu) Frechette and the late Vernon Gordon. Bob resided in Pawtucket most of his life.
Besides his mother, he leaves four siblings, Linda S. Gordon-Noel, Rene L. Gordon, Roland H. Gordon and Nancy D. Sutton; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mary V. Garzoli
PAWTUCKET - Mary V. Garzoli, 99 of Pawtucket passed away after a short illness on may 18, 2014. She was the wife of the late Raymond P. Garzoli Sr.
A longtime resident of the city of Pawtucket she was born in Central Falls, the daughter of the late Wincenty and Michelina (Niechwiedowicz) Zukowski.
Mrs. Garzoli was a longtime member of St. Teresa's Church, active with the Mothers Club and the Senior Citizens. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed her many trips with the senior citizen's that she helped organize.
PAWTUCKET - Cecelia Alves, 75, passed on May 17, 2014. She was the wife of the late Luis R. Bolduc.
She had been employed by Royal Electric for many years.
Cecelia is survived by a daughter, Marie Johnson and her husband James, grandchildren Johnathan and Joshua Johnson, all of Pawtucket, a sister, Dorothy Degan and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Alice Beland, Delinda, Dolphin, Albert, Joseph and Peter Alves.

CUMBERLAND - Adele Walach 96, of 1 Mendon Road passed away Friday May 16, 2014 at the Grandview Center. She was the beloved wife of the late John M. Walach.
Born in Central Falls she was a daughter of the late John and Agata (Gorlowska) Orzechowski. She lived in Cumberland for the past 63 years.
Before retiring in 1982 Adele was employed by the Ann & Hope Store of Cumberland for 12 years. She was a member of the St. Joseph's Church Holy Rosary Society.
PAWTUCKET -- Monday night marked the 21st game of Daniel Navaâ€™s penance with the PawSox.
The gone-but-certainly-not-forgotten Red Sox outfielder/first baseman carried a .275 batting average, .370 on-base percentage and a .435 slugging mark out to his right-field post while looking to extend a nine-game hitting streak.
CENTRAL FALLS â€“ Rhode Islandâ€™s smallest city already has the highest percentage of foreign-born residents and Mayor James Diossa has now officially proclaimed it a â€śWelcoming Cityâ€ť for newcomers to America.
He says it will send out the message that Central Falls is a good place to come to raise a family and start a business.
PAWTUCKETâ€”It's a densely populated city that has long mixed industry with residential. Yet, with a renewed effort at trying to beautify the riverfront, a plan by the owner of M&G Trucking and Transportation to build a new trucking facility in an area known as Bishops Bend has caused controversy with nearby property owners and has city officials trying to find a balanced solution.

CUMBERLAND: Antonio C. Bucci, â€śTonyâ€ť 91, passed peacefully on May 18th. He was the husband of the late Lorraine (Lambert) Bucci.
Born in Berkley Village, Cumberland, he was a son of the late Antonio and Louise Marie
Rita M. Guilbeault
PAWTUCKET - Rita M. Guilbeault of Pine Street Pawtucket died on May 16, 2014. She was the wife of the late Henry Guilbeault.
Mrs. Guilbeault was born in Central Falls, the daughter of the late Felix and Marion (Bertrand) Galimberti.
She was the mother of the late Gary Guilbeault.
WOONSOCKET â€“ The Keith Carney who was enshrined into Mount St. Charlesâ€™ Athletic Hall of Fame last Friday night was the picture of serenity â€“ suggesting that after 17 years in the NHL, retirement agrees with him.
