Thomas J. Duffy
PAWTUCKET - Thomas J. Duffy, formerly of Pawtucket and Little Compton passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, February 2, 2014. He was the loving husband of Barbara (Molloy) Duffy. They were married for 59 years.
Mr. Duffy was born in Pawtucket the son of the late Thomas L. Duffy and Mary (Kennedy) Duffy. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII.
John L. Brierley
PAWTUCKET - John L. Brierley, of Manton Avenue, passed away Saturday at Pawtucket Skilled Nursing and Rehab. He was the husband of the late Velma G. (Shea) Brierley.
Born in Cumberland, he was the son of the late John L. and Emily (McCaw) Brierley. He was a life-long resident of Pawtucket.
Mr. Brierley was a United States Army Air Corps, World War II Veteran, earning the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon.
John was employed by the Newman Crosby Company for over 40 years until his retirement.
He loved to spend time at the Lincoln Dog Track.
Antonio A. Forte
CUMBERLAND - Antonio A. Forte, 83, of Doire Road, passed away Tuesday at the Philip Hulitar Center, Woonsocket. He was the husband of the late Sylvia (Champagne) Forte.
Born in Cumberland he was the son of the late Antonio and Mary (Mascio) Forte. He was a life-long resident of Cumberland.
Mr. Forte was employed as an Operating Engineer for the former Forte Brothers Inc. for over 45 years, retiring in 1993.
Judith A. Sabatini
FORT PIERCE, FL - SABATINI, Judith A. (Parent), 71, of Fort Pierce, FL, passed away February 2, 2014. She was the wife of Reno R. Sabatini, Sr. for 54 years.
Matthew S. Lydon
PAWTUCKET - Matthew S. Lydon, 20, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 2, 2014. Born in Pawtucket, he was a beloved son of Joseph P. and Lisa A. (Fortin) Lydon of Pawtucket.
Russell N. Morrison
PAWTUCKET - Russell N. Morrison, 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 3, 2014. He was the husband of the late Norma A. (Hadley) Morrison. Born in Seekonk, he was a son of the late William and Christina (Newton) Morrison.
Russell was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
PROVIDENCE â€“ Gov. Lincoln Chafee has re-ignited the controversy over
issuing drivers licenses to illegal aliens.
Legislation submitted on Chafeeâ€™s behalf by Sen. Frank Ciccone of North Providence and Providence in the Senate and by Providence Rep. Anastasia Williams in the House of Representatives would create a â€śdriverâ€™s privilege licenseâ€ť for people who meet all other requirements for a regular driverâ€™s license but â€ścannot establish that he or she is legally present in the United States or does not have a Social Security number.â€ť
