PAWTUCKET â€“ Terry Doyleâ€™s 2013 minor-league season featured as much shuffling as a blackjack dealer.
The 27-year-old Warwick resident spent the first three months with the Pawtucket Red Sox, where he started 11 times and made seven appearances in relief, before getting transferred to Portland on July 5.
CUMBERLAND â€” The Town Council Wednesday will consider resolutions authorizing Mayor Daniel J. McKee to enter into new three-year employment contracts for Police Chief John R. Desmarais, Director of Rescue Services Sean Thompson and Water Superintendent J. Christopher Champi.
The council's finance subcommittee voted to endorse the three contract agreements, which total $232,900, and forward them to the council as resolutions.
The council meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall, 45 Broad St.

PAWTUCKET â€” For the craft beer lover, nothing brews interest like a gathering of some 40 local vendors, all under one roof. According to event organizer Matt Gray, over 600 people attended the Rhode Island Brew Fest winter event at the Pawtucket Armory on Saturday, which was a record crowd for its second year.
PAWTUCKET - Priscilla Fraser, 87, passed away on Friday after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Dwinal "Bud" Fraser. She was born in Central falls, a daughter of the late Franklin and Doris (Jones) Snow and had lived in Pawtucket for the last 51 years. She had been employed by the city of Central Falls as a librarian at the Adams Library for many years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of many civic and church organizations.
