PROVIDENCE â€“ Behind junior assistant captain Carol Rodriguezâ€™s double-double, which included 14 points, 11 rebounds and a block, Shea High garnered a somewhat-satisfying 30-21 Division III crossover triumph on Friday to improve to 3-2 in league action and 3-5 overall.
Aiding the aforementioned Rodriguez, Sophomore Tatianna Ramos manufactured another 11 boards and a bucket, while classmate Jackie Teixeira contributed four steals. Junior Astan Coulibaly chipped in four points and eight crucial rebounds, and senior co-captain Lourdes Anariba four points and five thefts.
PAWTUCKET â€” Craft beer aficionados will have much to celebrate today when the second annual Rhode Island Brew Fest Winter opens its doors at the Pawtucket Armory on Exchange Street.
Starting at 1 p.m., hundreds of craft beer fans will gather to sample brews from more than 40 breweries and meet the people behind the kegs and casks of some of the Ocean Stateâ€™s most popular microbreweries.

PAWTUCKET â€” The latest round of scores on the stateâ€™s high-stakes standardized tests are in, and they show that both Pawtucket and the Central Falls school districts have made strides in reading, particularly at the secondary school level.
However, there is still much work to be done in mathematics, as in a majority of school districts across the state, where the test scores were flat when it came to showing improvement or downright disappointing.

Madeleine R. Duval
LINCOLN - Madeleine R. (Collette) Duval, 85, of Lincoln passed away Friday at the Memorial Hospital, Pawtucket. She was the wife of the late Joseph Alfred Duval.
Born in Pawtucket she was the daughter of the late Paul and Eva (Tougas) Collette.
Mrs. Duval was a communicant of St. Aidan Church for many years.
Madeline loved music, shopping, attending plays, but most of all enjoyed time spent with her sisters.
Carole J. Benabio
PAWTUCKET - Carole J. Benabio, 72, of Pawtucket, passed away Monday, January 27, 2014 at home. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Amelio and Mary (Rubinacci) Benabio.
Carole is survived by her son, Harold Farrell, and a grandson.

Edmond J. Benoit
CLAREMONT, FL - Edmond J. Benoit, of Claremont, passed away May 7, 2013. Born in Central Falls, RI in 1938.
He is survived by his two brothers, Raymond and Dennis, 6 children, 8 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
He was a retired Major in the US Army with two tours of the Vietnam War and will be inurned at the Bushnell National Cemetery.
