PROVIDENCE â€“ The Rhode Island ACLU has filed a lawsuit against the Pawtucket School Department seeking public records regarding its high-stakes testing policy that it claims the department has withheld, but Superintendent Deborah Cylke said Thursday that it has already provided the requested information and the suit was filed â€śin error.â€ť
Myrtle A. Bachini
PAWTUCKET- Myrtle A. (Bowen) Bachini, 88, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 2, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late Benedict "Ben" J. Bachini.
Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late Michael J. and Gertrude M. (Chase) Bowen, she moved to Riverside in 1949 and then returned to Pawtucket in 1957.
CUMBERLAND- Mary (Gomes) Volpe, 85, of Mendon Road, died Wednesday, January 1, at the Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island, Pawtucket. She was the wife of Edward Volpe. Mr. & Mrs. Volpe were married for sixty-six years.
Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late Jose and Amelia (Correira) Chita-Gomes, she had lived in Pawtucket for many years, before moving to Cumberland six years ago.
Cecile Eva Masse
ENFIELD, CT- Cecile Eva Masse, 82, of Enfield, widow of Arthur D. Masse (1977), entered into eternal peace Wednesday Jan. 1, 2014 at Evergreen Health Care in Stafford.

Lisa E. Forestal
MAPLEVILLE- Lisa E. (Boucher) Forestal, 52, of Cooper Hill Rd., died January 1, 2014 in the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of T.R. Forestal whom she married November 5, 1983.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Honorable Edward O. Boucher Esq.
Mrs. Forestal worked over thirty years as a hairdresser for The Hairpin, Woonsocket. Lisa was a devoted animal lover and owner and was a member of the ASPCA and the Humane Association.
PAWTUCKET- Debra DaSilva, entered into eternal life on Thursday December 27, 2013 after an illness.
Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of Charles Newton and Janice (Plante) Wagner and lived most of her life in the city.
Debra had been employed in the food service industry for many years and had been the linen manager at Kent Hospital for Angelica Linen Service for 6 years before retiring due to illness. She also had been a home health aid to several private clients.
Eileen P. Cadden
PAWTUCKET- Cadden, Eileen P., 91, of Maplecrest Drive, Pawtucket died on January 2, 2014 at Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket. She was the loving wife of James J. Cadden.
Eileen was born in Pawtucket, the daughter of the late Edward J. and Elizabeth (Ford) Shannon.
She worked as a clerk for many years at the Health-Tex Corporation. Eileen was also a member of the Ireland 32 Society and the RI Cellidne Club.
Norman E. Fowler
GREENVILLE - Norman E. Fowler, born March 19, 1925, died on December 15, 2013 at Cortland Place in Greenville. He was the son of the late Ernest and Maryellen (Weavil) Fowler. He was also predeceased by his wife Marion (Miliken) Fowler.
Norman worked in the textile industry until he retired over 30 years ago.
His only survivors are cousins, Jean McGregor, Paul O'Toole and Sally Boisclair.
A Memorial Service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held on January 8, 2014 at 11:30 am at Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln.
PAWTUCKET- Michael Gomes, 42, of Pawtucket died December 17, 2013.
He was born in Pawtucket.
He was the son of Donald F. Gomes and the late Claire E. (Muncey) Gomes.
He was employed by RI Hospital as a unit assistant for 15 years.
Besides his father, he is survived by his son Derrin Michael Quinn; his siblings, Nancy McKenna, William Gomes, Donna White St. Germain and Michele Gomes; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Donald Gomes Jr.
