PAWTUCKET â€“ Police are investigating a second death in as many days after an unidentified man's body was found in the woods off Blackstone Avenue Monday afternoon.
PAWTUCKET -- The body of an unidentified man was discovered in a wooded area on Blackstone Avenue on Monday afternoon. Police confirmed they are investigating the discovery of the body as a suspicious death, but wouldn't release any other details. The medical examiner was called to the scene and an autopsy is planned, police said.
CENTRAL FALLS â€“ A city woman is being hailed a hero after rescuing a mother and her 3-year-old daughter from a burning three-family apartment building on Lincoln Avenue Saturday morning.
Battalion Chief Keith Sullivan said the 9:34 a.m. fire broke out in the kitchen on the first floor of the 99 Lincoln Avenue building, which quickly filled with thick, heavy smoke.

PAWTUCKET - Claire O. (Therrien) Wojtyto, 90, formerly of Douglas passed away after an illness at the Pawtucket Skilled Nursing Center in Pawtucket, RI where she was a resident.
Jack L. Blum Sr.
CUMBERLAND - Jack L. Blum Sr., 77, of Glenside Rd., passed away Friday in the Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. He was the beloved husband of Leona M. (George) Blum.
Born in Howe Township, PA he was the son of the late Robert M. and Reva L. (Akin) Blum. He resided in Cumberland for the past 50 years.
He was employed by the Orchid Mfg. Co., Lincoln for 10 years until his retirement. Mr. Blum was a U. S. Navy veteran and a member of American Legion Post 14, Cumberland and a member of the VFW.
Margaret F. Quilitzsch
PAWTUCKET - Margaret F. Quilitzsch, 76, passed July 27, 2013. She was the wife of Robert O. Quilitzsch. They have been married for 59 years.
Born in England, she was a daughter of Reginald and Marjorie Smith.
Margaret had been employed as a health aide for Lifetime Medical and the VNA Nursing of Pawtucket for many years.
Besides her husband she is survived by her sisters Greta and Lillian, and her brother, Keith and several nieces and nephews.
Albert L. Colaccio
ATTLEBORO - Albert L. Colaccio, 95, of South Attleboro, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 26, 2013. He was the beloved husband of the late Sarah Sally (Swarbrick) Colaccio. Born and raised in Providence, a son of the late Alessandro and Resttula (Grillo) Colaccio, he resided in South Attleboro over 40 years.
Al was a foreman at Fram, East Providence for many years until retiring in 1982. He loved to travel, play cards and was a member of PEAL for over 25 years. An accomplished violinist, he enjoyed playing for 85 years.
PAWTUCKET - Alfred Bolduc of Pawtucket passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2013. He was the husband of Margaret A. (Hagan) Bolduc. They were married for over 60 years.
Mr. Bolduc was born in Pawtucket, the son of the late Alfred and Isabel (Marquis) Bolduc. He was a United States Air Force Veteran, serving in Korea. Mr. Bolduc was employed at the former Allied Signal, now Honeywell for many years. He also worked at A&P Supermarkets.
PAWTUCKET â€“ Police are investigating the murder of a 41-year-old Dawson St. man at his home early Sunday morning. Two men were reported to have been seen fleeing the home after the reported shooting but remained at large Sunday night, according to police.
PAWTUCKET â€” Prior to Sunday, the Pawtucket Red Sox had captured only two of 12 contests against North Division foe Lehigh Valley this season.

PAWTUCKET- Nanci R. Ginish, 57, passed away Saturday July 20, 2013.
Born in Pawtucket she was a beloved daughter of the late Stanley L. and Rose (Machowski) Ginish. She was a life long resident of Pawtucket.
Before retiring she was employed as a Supervisor for Metal Loft Industries of Attleboro.
In 1996 Nanci was inducted into the Rhode Island Aquatic Hall of Fame and was also a past Vice President. She also served as a Swim Coach at the East Providence Boys Club.
Nanci was one of six children of the award winning Ginish Family of swimmers.

PAWTUCKET - Biruta E. Cunningham of Pawtucket, 90, died peacefully on Thursday, July 25, 2013, with her niece Joanne Ciocys, at her side. Biruta was the wife of the late beloved Dr. John J. Cunningham.

Mr. Francisco was born in Portugal, the son of the late Antonio Francisco and Ana de Jesus. He worked in the construction industry for many years. Mr. Francisco was a loyal soccer fan of Sport Lisboe e Benfica.
PORT ORANGE, FL - John "Jack" Machowski, 66, of Port Orange, Fl, formerly Pawtucket, RI, died July 9th 2013.
He leaves two children, Lisa-Carol Mosley and Steven M. Machowski, a brother, Robert Machowski, one granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
He was a Vietnam Vet serving proudly with the U.S. Air Force.
