Shea kicks off season with 2-1 win over Masters

PAWTUCKET — After her squad had sealed a satisfying 2-1 victory over Masters Regional Academy of Smithfield, Shea High head coach Danielle Bishop spent perhaps 10 minutes with her girls addressing their collective strengths and weaknesses.
Conditioning certainly wasn't an issue in the Raiders' Division 3-B opener at Max Read Field on Wednesday afternoon. Now she's hoping the collective mind-set for a long season will follow suit.

Chafee won't run in 2014

PAWTUCKET - Irene Grenon, 66, died Monday, August 26th at Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. Born in Central Falls, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ruth (Laurie) Grenon.
Irene was the sister of the late Robert, Raymond, and Roland Grenon and is survived by 6 nieces and 7 nephews.
Ms. Grenon was employed by Ann & Hope and retired in 2012. Ms. Grenon was a donor to both ASPCA and Society of the Little Flower. She leaves her best friend, Noelle her much loved cat.

PAWTUCKET - Evans, Susan Jean, 60 of Pawtucket, died Sept. 2, 2013, at her home on Goff Avenue. Susan was the daughter of the late Ellen and John Meyer. She was the wife of the late Charles L. Evans and the mother of Candace Cloutier of Woonsocket and Scott Evans of North Providence and loving grandmother of Joshua Evans, Ellen Cloutier, Marissa Cloutier, Jeremy Evans, and Benjamin Evans.
