SRA spikers drop 3-0 verdict to Div. III foe Johnston

PAWTUCKET — St. Raphael Academy head coach Linley Pullem's post-game synopsis of her squad's overall performance was very simply put.
The Saints had just sustained a 3-0 Division III-North loss to Johnston High at the Alumni & Wellness Center late Monday afternoon, and she admitted she saw flashes of brilliance coupled with moments of complete disarray.
“We just need to be more consistent,” she stated.
On this day, SRA squandered three-point cushions in each of the three games, but watched them evaporate due to the Panthers' superior serving.

SEEKONK - Marilyn Edith (Chestnut) Lefaivre, 73, of Seekonk, died unexpectedly at Sturdy Memorial Hospital on September 17, 2013. Born in Attleboro on February 24, 1940, she was the daughter of the late George Edmund Chestnut and Edith Virginia (Claflin) Chestnut and lived almost her entire life in Seekonk. She was the former wife of Allen D. Lefaivre of Pawtucket, RI.

THIS JUST IN: Two arrested in E.P. shooting

EAST PROVIDENCE – Police have made two arrests in connection with Sunday’s
shooting at Onna Moniz John Park, but are not releasing the names of the
suspects until later this afternoon pending further investigation,
according to police Lt. Michael David.
“We have two individuals in custody,” David said. "The quick arrests in
this are a direct result of police officers being familiar with the
community in which they work and inter agency cooperation."
Meanwhile, the 22-year-old victim in the shooting was being listed today
