PAWTUCKET – Tolman High head coach Bel Pereira had hoped his squad would sew up what would've been a stellar 2-1 triumph over Division III-A rival St. Raphael Academy on Wednesday evening, but that wish fell by the wayside with one simple boot.

With 10 minutes left in regulation, and after a Tiger defender had been whistled for an infraction just outside her own zone's penalty box, officials awarded talented senior co-captain Kyanna Ivey-Jones an indirect kick from about 22 yards out.

Council member upset about recycling snags

PAWTUCKET—A 20-ton recycling truck driving the wrong way down a one-way street is a liability waiting to happen, says City Councilor Terry Mercer. As such, he and others on the City Council want to see changes made by the city's trash disposal vendor so this action does keep recurring.

Rollande Michaud

CENTRAL FALLS - Rollande Michaud, 82, formerly a longtime Seekonk resident, passed on September 17th with her son by her side. She was the wife of the late Lawrence A. Michaud.
Born in Central Falls, Rollande was a daughter of the late Dorilas and Albertine (Berard) Bergeron.
She had been employed by Apex of Pawtucket for over 30 years and was a former member of the Wilfred Manor Association.

Bernard P. Devlin

PAWTUCKET - Devlin, Bernard P., 82, of Burgess Avenue, Pawtucket passed away on September 17, 2013, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Patricia (Regan) Devlin. Bernard was born in Pawtucket the son of the late Patrick and Lydia (Masse) Devlin.
Mr. Devlin graduated from St. Raphael Academy in 1949 and went on to the Rhode Island School of Design for drafting. He worked as a draftsman in the Fram Corporation Engineering Department. Bernard also served his country in the Army during the Korean War.

PAWTUCKET - William J. Vaudrain, 81, died unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital, New Bedford on Monday, September 16, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Jean (Auger) Vaudrain for 58 years. He was born in Pawtucket, the son of the late Noel and Leda (Ouellette) Vaudrain and was a lifelong resident of Pawtucket.
