PAWTUCKET â€“ It was akin to the calm before the storm Tuesday afternoon inside the PawSox clubhouse.
Some 24 hours before Wednesdayâ€™s 4 p.m. Eastern Time non-waiver trading deadline, Pawtucket took the field for batting practice. There was perfect attendance as Will Middlebrooks and Xander Bogaerts â€“ two names that have swirled amidst the trade winds in recent days â€“ joined the rest of their Triple-A teammates in heading back inside for a cool, air-conditioned sequester.
CUMBERLAND â€“ A local man convicted in June on multiple counts of first-degree and second- degree child molestation was sentenced to 60 years, with 50 to serve, during a hearing on Tuesday before Superior Court Judge William E. Carnes Jr., according to Attorney General Peter Kilmartinâ€™s office.
CUMBERLAND - Armand "Mundy" Costa, 71, of Curran Rd. passed away Tuesday in the Philip Hulitar Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Dale (Cote) Costa.
Born in Central Falls he was the son of the late Manuel and Maria (Medeiros) Costa Sr. He was a life long Cumberland resident.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Cumberland.
CENTRAL FALLS - Raymond Jette, 90, passed on July 29, 2013. He was the husband of the late Estelle (Bourgette) Jette. He was a decorated Air Force Veteran of WWII.
Raymond is survived by two daughters, Venita Cameron and Donna Oliveira, several grandchildren, many great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.
He was the father of the late Russell Jette and Diane Bandilli.

Rita M. Lambert
MOUNT CARMEL, PA - Rita Marie Lambert, 87, of 325 North Vine Street, died Monday, July 29, 2013.
Born in Mount Carmel on March 7, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Helen (Adzema) Korzeniecki. Rita was educated in the Mount Carmel School District.
She was married to the late Adeland Lambert, who preceded her in death on February 24, 1987, she was a caregiver for both her late husband and family. She enjoyed listening to big band music, flea marketing, dining out and casinos.
Rita was a member of Divine Redeemer Church, Mount Carmel.
Lucien H. Provost
PAWTUCKET - Lucien H. Provost, 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 30, 2013. He was the beloved husband of the late Beatrice S. (Labonte) Provost. Born in Montreal, P.Q., Canada, he was a son of the late Henri & Marie Reine (Vincent) Provost.
Lucien was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War and then worked as a lab technician at Teknor Apex, Pawtucket over 40 years until his retirement. He was a hard worker and a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. Lucien enjoyed working in the yard and traveling.
