Red Sox think top prospect Bogaerts catches on fast

PAWTUCKET -- On a late March day in Fort Myers, Fla., Xander Bogaerts could have accepted what the lineup card stipulated and left it at that.

The Red Sox prospect and now the newest member of the PawSox, however, was comfortable enough in his own skin to approach the powers-that-be and show his eagerness and enthusiasm for the game he is paid to play.

According to one staff member, the sequence helped cast the player in a whole new light.

PAWTUCKET- Kay E. (Follett) Fournier, 57, of Robinson Avenue died Thursday, June 20, 2013 at the Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island, Pawtucket. She was the beloved wife of William M. Fournier.
Born in Providence, the loving daughter of Stuart A. Follett of Cumberland and the late Thomasine H. (Dick) Follett, she had lived in Pawtucket for the past 31 years.
Kay was a sales associate at J. C. Penney at Emerald Square Mall, North Attleboro for 18 years before retiring.
She was a graduate of Cumberland High School and Dean Jr. College.

NORTH PROVIDENCE- GARY E. Furtado, 45, passed unexpectedly at home on June 18th.
He was the son of Gary A. Furtado and the late Odete A. (Duarte) Furtado.
He had been employed by the University Club of Providence.
Besides his father, he is survived by his grandmother, Irene (Fernandes) Duarte, a sister, Kim Medeiros, a brother, Jason Furtado, a niece, Alexis, and his nephews, Brayden, and Antonio. He was the fianc of Tammy Nary. Gary was the grandson of the late Agostinho Duarte.
