Lincoln's Wahl settles for share of third place

CRANSTON – Jonathan Wahl left Cranston Country Club with a deeper appreciation of what it means to truly contend to win golf tournaments.
All the Lincoln High junior had to do was look over at what his playing partner – Portsmouth’s Jake Bauer – was doing over the final three holes, then refer back to his own scores. While Bauer closed strong with consecutive birdies on Nos. 16-17 and a par on 18, Wahl went par, par, bogey.

PROVIDENCE – Gov. Lincoln Chafee, a former Republican turned Independent who is rated nationally as one of the most vulnerable governors seeking re-election in 2014, plans to announce this morning that he is joining the Democratic Party as part of his quest for a second term.

Second school closed -- this time it's Nathanael Greene Elementary

PAWTUCKET —Concerns over possible dangers with the same type of ceilings as the Potter-Burns Elementary School have prompted the closure of the Nathanael Greene Elementary School at least until Monday.
Schools Supt. Deborah Cylke said that an engineering report that she received late Tuesday showed there were concerns about the condition of about a half dozen ceilings in classrooms and in the principal's office at the Greene School. As such, she made the decision on Tuesday night to close that school as well so a contractor can take corrective action.

Nora B. Moore

PAWTUCKET - Nora B. Moore, 59, of Ballston Avenue, Pawtucket passed away on Monday, May 27, 2013. She was the wife of David Yuells.
Nora was born in Fairbanks, Alaska, the daughter of the late Thomas Moore and Josephine (Paine) Moore. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island in Pawtucket for many years.
Besides her husband Nora is survived by her sister Patricia Matthies of Aurora, Colorado and her two rescue dogs Brownie and Sybil.

Leo Breault

PAWTUCKET - Leo Robert Breault, who turned 82 on the 15th, entered into eternal life May 24, 2013 in Missouri at the home of his daughter Deborah A. Walker.
Leo was born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Louis and Anita (Baril) Breault. He had been employed as an inspector at the former Slater Dye Works of Pawtucket for 17 years retiring in 1993. Leo was also a US Army Veteran of the Korean War and had been a communicant of St. Leo the Great Church.
