CUMBERLAND â€” A 32-year-old Woonsocket man and a 21-year-old Cumberland man have been charged in connection with the stabbing of a man at a Broad Street bar late Monday night, police said.
Clarence Mowry, of Woonsocket, was arrested early Tuesday morning by Cumberland police and charged with conspiracy, simple assault and disorderly conduct. He was arraigned before the 6th District Court and released with surety bail.
Shawn Plunkett, of Cumberland, was taken into custody around noon Tuesday and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.
PAWTUCKETâ€” Itâ€™s official. The city has a five-year contract with MTG Disposal LLC to handle its sanitation and recycling services.

Maria J. Pires
CUMBERLAND - Maria J. Pires, 89, of Elizabeth St., passed away Monday in the Grandview Nursing Center, Cumberland. She was the wife of the late Antonio Pires.
Born in the Valley Falls section of Cumberland she was the daughter of the late Miguel and Maria (Guerra) Salustio.
Mrs. Pires was a textile worker for many years until her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Patrick Church, Cumberland.
PAWTUCKET - Alphonse Orlowski, 86, of Broadway, Pawtucket died on Sunday, March 3, 2013. He was the husband of Irene Orlowski.
Mr. Orlowski was born in Central Falls, the son of the late Joseph and Regina Orlowski. He was employed by Conlon Movers for many years. Al was a United States Army Veteran of WWII. He was an avid bowler at the East Providence Lanes.
Theresa C. Chartier
PAWTUCKET - Theresa C. Chartier, 83, passed away peacefully at home on March 3, 2013. She was the wife of the late Edward L. Chartier, who she lovingly referred to as "Mr. Wonderful" throughout their 65 years together.
Madelyn T. Shaw
PAWTUCKET - Madelyn T. Shaw, 90, formerly of Pullen Ave, passed peacefully on March 5th. She was the wife of the late Warren J. Shaw Sr.
Born in Pawtucket, Madelyn was a daughter of the late Peter A. and Ella (Cormier) Sherry.
She had been employed by the former Swank Jewelry and Fuller Box Company for many years. She was a former president of the Ladies Auxiliary Pawtucket FOP.
PROVIDENCE â€” As most people expected, No. 1 seeded Middletown and defending champion Juanita Sanchez won their Division III semifinal-round games on Monday night at Rhode Island College.
But they didnâ€™t leave the Tripp Athletic Center without getting tough battles from Davies and North Smithfield, which despite coming up short in their respective bids to reach Sundayâ€™s title game at URIâ€™s Ryan Center, turned in admirable performances.
