PAWTUCKETââYouth is wasted on the youngâ and no one knows that better than those working in law enforcement. Sorting out those teens who commit a crime due to immaturity and who deserve a second chance versus those who are truly delinquent is the goal of the city's Juvenile Hearing Board.
It will be 20 years ago this month that Pawtucket's Juvenile Hearing Board was formed, and the panel of citizens has saved many a youthful offender from having a police record, but more importantly, going on to commit further crimes.
Normand C. Lesieur
CENTRAL FALLS - Normand C. Lesieur, 89, passed away peacefully at Home and Hospice Care of Rhode Island on Sunday, November 3, 2013. He was the beloved husband of the late Theresa (Morrissette) Lesieur for 63 years until her death in 2007.
Doreen E. Papa
CUMBERLAND - Doreen E. Papa, 90, passed on November 1, 2013. She was born in London, England on August 7 1923.
Doreen was the wife of the late Sylvester J Papa. She is survived by her children, Doreen E. Beauvais of Lincoln, Linda Papa of Texas, Mary Demers of Maine, Frances Frails of Texas, Stephen Papa of Texas and David Papa of Florida, 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
William L. Bourgault Jr.
SMITHFIELD - William L. Bourgault Jr, "Bill" 66, passed on November 1st at his home surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous and hard fought battle with cancer. He was the husband of Lucille (Tremblay) Bourgault.
He was the son of the late William L. Bourgault Sr. and Annette (Ouellette) Bourgault.
Bill was the proprietor of Rycourt Metal Fabricators for 20 years. He was a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War serving aboard the USS Intrepid.
Marion L. Pothier
PAWTUCKET - Marion L. Pothier, age 88, died Saturday November 2nd 2013 after a brief illness. She had been a resident of Pawtucket for 55 years.
Born in Providence to Joseph E. and Katherine A. (Duffy) Pothier.
She attended Hope High School, was a graduate of Bryant College and earned two Master Degrees from Bentley College and Boston University. She taught business at Natick, MA High School for most of her career. She later worked for Cyborg Systems, Inc. as a software programmer.
Mary E. Goodwin
RUMFORD - Mary E. Goodwin of Rumford died on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Emerald Bay Manor in Cumberland, RI. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Peter Goodwin and Elizabeth (Curley) Goodwin. Mary was a graduate of Bryant University and taught in the Business Department of the William E. Tolman High School for nearly three decades. She was an avid golfer and a member of the Pawtucket Country Club for more than fifty years. Mary was also a member of the Pawtucket Teachers Alliance as well as the RIAFT Retired Teachers Association.
