PAWTUCKET â€” A pedestrian was killed and the driver whose vehicle allegedly struck him was charged after an accident early Sunday morning on I-95 near the Smithfield Avenue exit.
The accident took place at 4:40 a.m., Col. Steven G. Oâ€™Donnell, superintendent of the R.I. State Police, said in a press release issued by the department Sunday afternoon. The victimâ€™s identification is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, he said.
CENTRAL FALLS â€“ Voters will have a chance to get an up-close and personal look at the candidates for City Council, including the two at-large seats that will be up for grabs for the first time this year, at a forum sponsored by the YWCA Rhode Island Wednesday evening at 6:30 at Central Falls High School.
Bianca Pavoncello, executive editor of the Pawtucket Times and Woonsocket Call, will be the moderator. She will take written questions from the audience as well as questions generated by the YWCA.
