Lincoln budget reaps benefits from casino

LINCOLN — Town Administrator T. Joseph Almond has begun working on projections for the coming fiscal year, and for now at least it appears the town will not be seeing a decline in its Twin River revenues.

In fact, the creation of Twin River’s live table gaming venue at the casino has apparently generated some additional interest in the video lottery terminals (electronic games) from which Lincoln receives a share of the revenues, he noted.

Shea gridders claim non-league matchup with N.P.

NORTH PROVIDENCE — Throughout practice sessions last week, North Providence High head coach Glenn Williams quietly worried about how facing a Division II-B squad such as Shea could hurt it.
Not emotionally, of course, but physically. After all, the competition – not to mention the overall size, strength and speed of a D-II club – is better two leagues up, as many coaches out there would heartily agree.
“We came into this with the attitude 'Let's get through this without any injuries, and let's learn something from it,'” stated Williams, also the school's athletic director.
