PAWTUCKET - Martha F. (DeRoche) Bibby-Boucher, 83, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, August 5, 2012. She was the beloved wife of the late Conrad "Butch" O. Boucher.
Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Wilfred and Annie (Tally) DeRoche. She leaves three children, Sandra Mellen, Walter Bibby and Michael R. Bibby, Sr. all of Pawtucket; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

PAWTUCKET - Annette Lust passed away at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center on August 3, 2012 at the age of 70.
She is survived by her husband Paul Mowrey, brothers George and Dirk, sisters Hannelore and Angelika and children Paco, Gustavo, Friedrika and Stephanie, together with 6 grandchildren and 16 nieces and nephews.

CUMBERLAND - Manuel Ferreira, 74, of Broad Street passed away Friday in the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence. He was the husband of Adozinda (Saraiva) Ferreira
Born in Pinhancos, Portugal he was the son of he late Antonio and Maximina (Santos) Ferreira. He resided in Cumberland for the past 10 years, previously residing in Pawtucket.
He was employed at the former Central Braid, Central Falls until his retirement.

PAWTUCKET - George J. Audette, 91 of Pawtucket died Friday at the Miriam Hospital. He was the husband of the late June (Voyer) Audette. Born in Pawtucket he was the son of the late Joseph D. and Diana (Bourgeault) Audette. He was a Pawtucket resident his entire life.

PAWTUCKET - Martin, Jean, 67, of Pawtucket, and formerly of Central Falls, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2012. She was the wife of Joseph W. Martin Jr.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Searles) Burns. She was a school bus monitor in Central Falls School Department for eighteen years, retiring in 2004.

PAWTUCKET — As much as he enjoyed his two-year stint with the Pawtucket Red Sox, Wade Boggs wanted no part of the Triple-A ball club upon reaching the parent team in 1982.
Any ballplayer will tell you that his goal is not just to make the majors, but to make it and stay there, leaving the minor leagues in their rear-view mirror for good. When Boggs’ promotion came after almost six years in the minors, he felt he had learned everything he needed to begin his big-league career.

To help stem this, Hasbro, Inc. and the United Way of Rhode Island have teamed up to establish the Hasbro Summer Learning Initiative for children across Rhode Island.

PAWTUCKET — From Aug. 5 to 11, the following operations will be in effect:
Anticipated Traffic Impacts / Road Work:
• Temporary highway closures of I-95 NB will continue during the early morning hours on Monday and Tuesday. These closures are necessary for the completion of the concrete deck panel erection for the new Bridge 550 NB structure.

Police charge city man with child abuse

PAWTUCKET — Following an investigation of an incident on Anthony Avenue, a 28-year-old city man was arrested Thursday on charges of child abuse.
Dennis R. Hoffman, of Seneca Avenue, was arraigned on one count of child abuse—first degree on Friday morning in District Court in Providence.

City awards contract for Corridor development

CUMBERLAND - Robert E. Reilly, 95, of Cumberland, R.I. (previously of Bay Terrace) passed away on July 28th at Mt. Sinai Hospital of Queens.
Bob, a 21 year veteran of the U.S. Navy, served during W.W.II as a Chief Petty Officer PHC 1st. class. He later worked as a photographer for the N.Y.C. Health & Hospital Corp as a photographer & color timer.
An organist & longtime member of The American Theater Organ Society (A.T.O.S.) his love of the Arts knew no bounds. He is a widower (married only 1 time) to Kathryn Orchik Reilly.

CENTRAL FALLS - Rita Girard, 86, passed away August 2, 2012 after a brief illness at Miriam Hospital. She was called home to be with her husband Normand Girard. Rita was the daughter of the late Rodrigue and Yvonne (LaSalle) Dessert.

CUMBERLAND - Jacinto B. Sousa, 75, of One Mendon Road, passed away Friday at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence. He was the husband of Maria (Cabral) Sousa, and they had been happily married for the past 49 years.
Born in Feteiras, Sao Miguel, Portugal, he was the son of the late Jose Botelho Sousa and Maria da Conceicao Carreiro. He moved to this country in 1987, settling Burrilville and later Cumberland.
Jacinto was employed as a Machine Operator for Tech Industries for 15 years, retiring in 2002.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Cumberland.

Police: Man trying to lure girls into his car

PAWTUCKET(AP) — Pawtucket police say they looking for a man who's been trying to lure teenage girls into his car for the past week.
Police tell WLNE-TV that at least five girls between the ages of 15 and 17 have come forward, saying the man approached them near the CVS store on East Avenue. None of the girls was harmed. One girl got into the man's car but managed to get away after refusing to give him her address and phone number.
All the girls told police similar stories about how the man called them beautiful and asked them if they needed a ride.

What many don't realize is the important part that this boat played in U.S. history as well as the way it helped lift a Pawtucket resident out of his post-retirement doldrums.

She was a dedicated and loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, and the former owner of MiLady's Beauty Lounge.

CUMBERLAND - FOSS, William H. 90, passed away Wednesday in the Memorial Hospital, Pawtucket. He was the husband of Pauline (Gagnon) Foss, and they had been married for 50 years.
Born in Providence he was the son of the late Harry and Anna (Mulvey) Foss. He resided in Cumberland for over 60 years.
Mr. Foss was a United States Navy veteran, serving during World War II as a radio operator. Bill was employed as a truck driver for Teknor Apex of Pawtucket for over 35 years.

PAWTUCKET - Ronald P. Murby of Pawtucket died on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Hospice Center in Providence following a short illness.
He was the son of the late Thomas J. Murby, Sr. and Alice (Pontbriant) Murby.
For the past 52 years, Mr. Murby had been employed by the City of Pawtucket Highway Department.
He leaves two sisters: Jean Martin of North Attleboro and Mary Gaynor of Seekonk; several nieces and nephews and his cherished coworkers at the Highway Department who became his extended and loyal family.
