Matsuzaka labors as PawSox earn fourth straight win

PAWTUCKET – In true maddening fashion, Daisuke Matsuzaka nibbled and nibbled some more in his rehab start Monday, which saw the Pawtucket Red Sox post a 4-0 victory. Facing a free-swinging Rochester outfit, Matsuzaka lasted just 4 2/3 innings, with 49 of his 87 pitches going for strikes.

PAWTUCKET – To many Red Sox fans, Daisuke Matsuzaka has always been a man of mystery. Granted, the language barrier has made it next to impossible for the American populous to get a firm handle on the Japanese import, yet judging by the heavy media turnout for Matsuzaka’s rehab outing for the Pawtucket Red Sox Monday, the right-handed pitcher is still very much a big deal in his native land.

PAWTUCKET - Timothy E. Karpinski, 59, formerly of Towers East, passed away, Saturday after an illness. He was the longtime companion of Debbie Huntington.
Born in Bellows Falls, Vt. a son of the late Chester and Katherine S. (Fenessey) Karpinski. Tim lived in the Pawtucket area most of his life until moving to Johnston a short time ago.

Roland J. Guillaume

PAWTUCKET - Roland J. Guillaume, 77, of Lauder Avenue, Pawtucket died May 5, 2012.
Mr. Guillaume was born in Pawtucket, the son of the late Ulric and Marie (Guillaume) Guillaume. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in Korea.
Mr. Guillaume was employed by the City of Pawtucket for over thirty years as a mechanic.
He is survived by his cousins, Diane Vary of Shannon, Georgia, Kathleen Almeida of Pawtucket, Deborah Betts of Pawtucket, Jack Tumidajski of Glendale, Arizona and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Leo Guillaume and Jeannette Costa.

Dora Migneault

PAWTUCKET - Dora Migneault, 93, of Pawtucket, died Wednesday, May 2 at the Philip Hulitar Center, Providence, after a brief hospitalization. She was the wife of the late Louis Henry Migneault, Jr.
She was born in Attleboro, MA, the daughter of the late Gideon and Roseanna (Bouchard) Genest. She was a member of the ILGWU and enjoyed traveling with the Seniors Group of St. Cecilia's Church.
She leaves three sons, Edward, Henry, and Jean Migneault of Pawtucket, a brother Adelard Genest of Pacifica, CA and her grandchildren Rhynda Stevens, Joseph, and Steven Migneault.

PAWTUCKET - Joyce Rogers, 58, of Swansea and formerly of Pawtucket, passed May 3rd. She was the wife of David Aguiar. She was the daughter of Barbara (Donnelly) Rogers of Pawtucket and the late Frederick Rogers. Joyce had been employed by Matrix Inc, Pirate Cove Marina and MF Engineering.
