Lacoste's hit in seventh lifts Tolman past EWG

PAWTUCKET – According to head coach Craig Giarrusso, his Tolman High squad more than felt the effects of its first defeat of the season, a 4-3 decision to previously-unbeaten host East Greenwich, on Wednesday afternoon.
Just 24 hours after, the Tigers took on Exeter/West Greenwich in another Division II crossover tilt at Slater Park's Bailey Field, and looked a bit dazed through the first four-plus frames.

PAWTUCKET - James "Jim" F. Allen, Jr., 87, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2012. He was the beloved husband of the late Ann H. (Rowse) Allen.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late James F., Sr. and Alice (White) Allen. Mr. Allen was the proprietor of Allen's Uniforms Ltd. and was an avid figure skater.
He leaves two daughters, Jo Ann Allen of St. Petersburg, FL, Janet A. Courtois of North Attleboro; a son, James Allen, III of Pawtucket and three grandchildren, Alyssa Allen, David and Michael Courtois.

Pawtucket police kill Mass. man during car stop

PAWTUCKET — The 37-year-old man shot to death by Pawtucket Police on Wednesday night had been wanted by the Massachusetts State Police for an armed assault.
The suspect has been identified as Jamie Coyle, who has addresses in both Pawtucket and Attleboro, Pawtucket Police said.
