PROVIDENCE â€” Tolman High had just earned an easier-than-expected 3-0 triumph over Central on Tuesday night, and with it virtually sealed up the second-place slot in Division II-North, but veteran head coach Neil Nachbar was hardly satisfied with his squad's overall performance.
PAWTUCKET â€” It's been a rough first season for the fledgling St. Raphael Academy program, but Tuesday night made it all worthwhile.
Maybe the number 13 is lucky, after all.

NORFOLK, Va. â€” The Pawtucket Red Sox broke a 2-2 draw by scoring twice in the top of the seventh inning and held on for a rain-shortened 5-3 victory over the Norfolk Tides on Tuesday afternoon for a split of their four-game series at Harbor Park.
Jonathan Hee led off the seventh with a single to right and Pedro Ciriaco followed with a double to right to put runners in scoring position.
A groundout to shortstop by Jose Iglesias allowed Hee to speed home with the go-ahead run, and Ryan Lavarnway doubled to right to drive in Ciriaco.
CUMBERLAND - Raymond D. Kelleher, 56, of High St. departed this earth and the empire he built on Monday at home.
Born in Central Falls he was the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Renaud) Kelleher. He was a life long Cumberland resident.
He was an auto body repairman his entire life. Ray was an avid pool player and also loved going to and watching NESC Motocross racing. For many years he could also be seen traveling up and down Broad St. and High St. in his favorite Chevelle.
CENTRAL FALLS - RITA I. Romenski RN 89, passed away Sunday May 20, 2012. She was the loving wife of the late Bernard "BENNY" Romenski.
Born in Pawtucket she was the beloved daughter of the late Cyrias and Aurore (Frechette) Letourneau. She lived in Central Falls for the past 60 years.
She was co-owner and Secretary of the Karol A. Romenski & Sons Funeral Home of Central Falls.
Rita was a Registered Nurse and did private duty nursing for several years. She was a Registered Nurse for 68 years.
SEEKONK - Gertrude (Thiemann) Milbourne, 101, formerly of Seekonk, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2012. She was the beloved wife of the late William Milbourne.
Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late Gustave and Maria (Werner) Thiemann, she moved to Seekonk in 1969. Mrs. Milbourne had been employed by Texas Instruments, Attleboro until retiring in 1966, and was previously employed by the former Darlington Textile Company. She was a former member of the Darlington Congregational Church.
CUMBERLAND - Maria Izilda (Rebelo) Rodrigues, 82, of Forest Ave., passed away Monday at the Memorial Hospital, Pawtucket. She was the wife of the late Jose Rodrigues.
Born in Quintal, Portugal she was the daughter of the late Luis and Maria (Jose) Rebelo. Mrs. Rodrigues came to this country in 1970 settling in Cumberland for the past 42 years.
She was a machine operator for the former SpinTex Company for many years, and later was employed by Chadwicks Yarn Company until her retirement.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Cumberland.
NORTON - Raymond N. Emmott, 81, formerly of Norton, MA and Pawtucket, RI passed away on Monday, May 21, 2012.
PAWTUCKET â€” It's official: an assistant principal at Middletown High School who began his career as a mathematics teacher will take over the helm of the William E. Tolman High School starting July 1.
Christopher Savastano, of Jamestown, was unanimously appointed as principal by the School Committee at its May 15 meeting. Savastano was the top choice of Schools Supt. Deborah Cylke and a search committee, and he was also interviewed by the School Committee.
CUMBERLAND â€” The Cumberland school community will come together May 29 to honor the 35 students who finished in the the top 10 percent of their graduating class .
Those students include Cumberland High School Class of 2012 Valedictorian Katilyn S. Krajanowski and Salutatorian Gabriella K. Cottiero.
The top 10 graduates will be honored at the annual Cumberland High School Distinguished Scholars Ceremony to be held Tuesday, May 29 at 9:15 a.m. in the front foyer of the high Shhool.
